I’m throwing it back to July 2019 today for Jack and Alex’s glorious engagement shoot at The Wrekin. I loved photographing these two, we chose the perfect day with the most beautiful early evening golden light. Alex is an absolute machine who is really into fitness, they chose to have the shoot at the Wrekin because is somewhere Alex goes to run quite often. The Wrekin is a beautiful local hill in Shropshire, I don’t walk there anywhere near as often as I should and I hadn’t done a shoot there before this one. Thankfully Alex knew a really good route around the bottom of the Wrekin that is fairly flat so none of us got too sweaty or out of breath during the shoot! The walk was really quiet too, this was lovely because it can be a bit strange giving each other a cuddle while I take photos when there are loads of other people around!
I knew Jack very vaguely before they booked me because our parents are friends and we went to the same college. It turned out that Luke also knew Alex from school, it’s a very small world! Jack has his own graphic design business so I knew that their wedding was going to be really creative with lots of lovely little touches. It was lovely having a wander around with them during their engagement shoot and talking about the plans for their wedding day. At the start of the shoot Alex was bit nervous, which honestly, most of my couples are at the start of an engagement shoot. I promised that she wouldn’t be able to tell in the photos though and it definitely gets less weird as the shoot goes on. I absolutely love how happy and relaxed they both look in their engagement photos, the lead up to your wedding is such an exciting time, I think it’s so lovely to have some photographs to document this.
I’m going to be blogging their wedding at Rowton Castle very soon, keep your eyes peeled!
