“It must have been fate that we had two cancellations in our journey to find a wedding photographer because we are so glad we ended up booking with you! Debbie and Peter got married in summer at the spectacular Shustoke Barn, which is a modern barn in Warwickshire. It was such a fun wedding and even the weather played ball!
Bridal prep
Debbie got ready at her parent’s home with her parents and bridesmaids, and the atmosphere was absolutely electric. My favourite part of prep was when Debbie handed out gifts to her bridesmaids and they all simultaneously gave her a hug, it was so heartfelt and lovely. The bride then took the short trip to get to the ceremony.
The vows
The ceremony was a beautiful service in the barn. The barn itself is really beautiful, with a huge window on one side, which creates the most lovely light streaming in onto the couples face during the ceremony. During the ceremony they had several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was so emotional and they nearly had me crying! Peter is Hungarian so they had some of their guests do readings in Hungarian during the service. This was really lovely and added such a personal touch to their ceremony. They had many people in tears despite the fact most of us had no idea what they were saying, they said it with feeling.
The party
The reception was out in the garden at the venue. They chose Shustoke Barn because it has so many options and they just fell in love with it. I love shooting Shustoke Barn weddings because it’s just so so gorgeous. I’m always so happy when I get the chance to shoot at Shustoke Barn, the light is always amazing, the grounds are amazing for couple portraits and the staff are always really helpful and friendly.
They had drinks and canapes in the afternoon, and a DJ in the evening. DJs can sometimes fall a little bit flat, but this guy was playing some TUNES. His set up was amazing as well, it was really simple and the lighting looked great. They decorated the venue with flowers and candles, because it worked so well with the time of year.
For dinner they had a roast dinner, which was so yummy. I have a lot of wedding food, and it’s nearly always amazing but the food at Shustoke Barn was really something else, I was SO impressed and didn’t want to leave a single bite! The first dance really really special. Debbie and Peter met while attending swing dancing classes, so of course their first dance had to be a swing dance. I’ve always loved swing dancing so I was really excited when Debbie and Peter told me about their plan for their first dance. Debbie even had a second dress to change into so she could dance, rather than the floor length dress she had been wearing all day. Needless to say their first dance was AMAZING, they’re pretty much a pair of pros. This was brilliant because it was so energetic it got everyone else up on the dance floor after their first dance was over.
The most memorable part of the day was not only the swing dancing but when Peter took a break during their couple portraits to forage some blackberries off one of the hedges!
The couple
Debbie wore a gorgeous Wed2b gown and Peter wore a very dapper Ted Baker suit and they looked so perfect. Debbie’s flowers were beautiful and they were put together by her mum!
