Highgate Literary & Scientific Institution Wedding – Yeree & Tim

Yeree & Tim had a gorgeous laid back London wedding back in September 2017. They had actually eloped earlier on in the year and got married at the back of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC by Yeree’s Godparents. Yeree described their elopement as “It was a rainy night with a view of the Potomac River, and it reminded me that important things in life don’t have to be carefully crafted but are best born from love.” I absolutely loved this attitude, it is so true!

They decided to have a blessing in London surrounded by all their family and friends. Yeree was born and raised in Hawaii and she described Tim as being “more stately and British”. Their wedding was attended by family and friends who lived in London, Hawaii and various parts of Europe, it was a lovely coming together of so many cultures!

Yeree began the day by getting ready in an Airbnb in Kentish Town, it was such a joyful and hectic bridal prep it was wonderful! She also opted to get the bus to her ceremony rather than hiring specific wedding transport, I LOVED this! Wedding transport can often be very pricey and when in London you’re really spoilt for choice with transport options, the bus dropped us almost right outside their ceremony venue so it was perfect!

For their ceremony Yeree and Tim had had Gather & Bloom decorate Highgate Literary & Scientific Institution. It was such a perfect setting for their wedding and Gather & Bloom made it even more beautiful. They also made Yeree’s bouquet which was equally stunning, I can’t recommend them enough if you’re looking for a Florist in London!

After their ceremony we went out the back of Highgate Literary & Scientific Institution to take a few couple portraits. There is an absolutely stunning library there which we made sure to make the most of. It was literally combining all of my favourite things, books, a beautiful couple and some gorgeous light, I was in my element!

We then caught an Uber to Hampstead Heath where we did the majority of their couple portraits. Yeree and Tim set aside a good hour for their couple portraits which I really loved, we got to explore the surroundings and took time to create some really beautiful images. My favourite image of the day is of Yeree and Tim on top of a hill at Hampstead Heath with no ground beneath their feet and just surrounded by blue skies.

They had a gorgeous reception back at The Star Pub which included everything that they had intended, friends and family, delicious food and drink, lovely speeches and a brilliant party! After I sent Yeree & Tim their slideshow of their big day, they emailed back…

“Oh dearest Lisa, we just watched the video, and we can’t thank you enough for capturing our day with such tenderness and beauty. We laughed and cried the whole way through.”

I couldn’t be happier with that as a response!

Thank you so much Yeree & Tim for letting me capture your wedding, I absolutely adored it! If you’re planning a wedding in London please drop me an email, I’d love to hear about your plans!
