Mari & Felix had a gorgeous back garden wedding at their amazing family home in London. As I walked in I was completely wowed by how amazing Felix and Mari’s house was, this is down to Felix’s mum being a retired interior designer! In their garden they had set up a simple marquee with lots of lovely details, the main aspect was the wild flowers, they were all over the tables and I later found out mari’s bouquet was also made up of wild flowers as well and her and her bridesmaids flower crowns!
Mari wore a beautiful second hand Asos dress that was just completely perfect for her. I always rave about how amazing Asos’ wedding dresses are and Mari’s dress was no exception! Felix had his suit made at King & Allen in Surbiton. Mari and Felix wanted a rustic look and really loved the speckled tweed and checked waistcoat with floral lining.
Ceremony at Twickenham Registry Office
They had a big red double decker London bus take them and their guests to and from their ceremony at Twickenham Registry Office in York House which was fab for fitting all their guests in and suited the relaxed atmosphere of their day down to the ground. York House is a big building full of history with big gardens, after their ceremony we used the garden’s for Mari and Felix’s group photographs. They only wanted a handful of group shots as they wanted their photographs to be mainly natural shots, this meant we were able to get them done really quickly, just before the rain came in! There was a quick dash back to the London Double Decker Routemaster bus where champagne was in full flow!
London Back Garden Wedding Reception
When guests arrived at their back garden reception, they were greeted with champagne, pimms and canapés, and later on they had a barbecue in the apple garden. Their amazing wedding cake was a triple layer cake made by the maid of honour. It consisted of three layers of lemon, elderflower and rose sponge, decorated with beautiful bright summer flowers. It was amazing!
London Wedding Portraits
For their couple portraits we had a walk around the area where they live in London, we went to a small park and also a gorgeous river. These two were an absolute dream to photograph, not only do they both have heaps of style they also didn’t stop laughing all day!

We loved her natural style and she was incredibly professional – she made us feel so comfortable. She has such a good eye for light and knows just how to capture the best photographs using natural light.”
This was my first London wedding and I’d been looking forward to it from the second that Mari and Felix booked, I absolutely adored Mari’s vision of a relaxed wedding with lots of wildflowers. And back garden weddings are some of my favourites to photograph, they’re always very relaxed and can be decorated exactly as you want to if you’re happy to do a bit of DIY.
