Gulshan and Jack got married in March at the spectacular Weston Park, which is an old mansion in Weston-Under-Lizard. They had their ceremony at St Andrews Church, which is in the grounds at Weston Park. It was a gorgeous day and the sun shone all day long!
Bridal prep
Gulshan got ready in the Bridal suite at Weston Park with her mum and her good friends, and the atmosphere was so calm. Having met Gulshan and Jack for their engagement shoot in London before their wedding I knew that they were both very calm people. So I knew Gulshan’s prep would have a really calm atmosphere too. She didn’t have any bridesmaids so the room she was getting ready in wasn’t too overcrowded which added to the calm atmosphere. She then walked the short trip to get to the ceremony with her friend who also gave her away.
Ceremony at St Andrews
The ceremony was a beautiful service in a stunning church in the grounds at Weston Park. St Andrews is quite a small church which was perfect for Gulshan and Jack’s wedding as they had just the right amount of guests to fill it up but they were all still close enough to the front that they could hear what was going on. During the ceremony they had several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was a really lovely way of involving their close friends in their ceremony and so meaningful. After their ceremony we headed outside to do their confetti shot. I always love this part of the day, especially when there’s really good amount of confetti to go round, which Gulshan and Jack definitely had! Gulshan and Jack also had a little moment to themselves while I lined everyone up with confetti. I think this is really important to do on a wedding day, even if it’s only 5 minutes, it’s so lovely for you both to have a little bit of time just to yourselves.
Reception at Weston Park
The reception was in the library at Weston Park. They chose the venue because it has so many options and they just love it there. It was a Spring wedding, which I always love shooting. The flowers are just starting to bloom and everything is coming to life again. They had a beautiful magnolia tree in the grounds at Weston Park that we used for some of their portraits, as soon as I spotted it I knew I wanted to use it. I love shooting Weston Park weddings because the grounds are absolutely amazing. I also love the library in particular. I’m a massive book nerd so whenever I get chance to shoot in a library I love it! The light in there was beautiful too which just added to my love for it.
They had drinks and canapes in the afternoon, and live music in the evening. The band in the evening were brilliant, they really got everyone involved up on the dance floor. They decorated the venue with flowers and they chose this, because they wanted to keep it simple. I think this decoration worked really well at Weston Park because the room that their wedding breakfast was in has gorgeous orange walls, too much decoration in this room would look too busy. Their cake was a gorgeous 3 tier peachy orange creation which was also a nod to Gulshan’s Indian heritage, it was beautiful!
For dinner they served a slap up meal, which was absolutely delicious. Weston Park is such a fancy venue, they even brought out my food on a silver platter (it was actually too heavy for me to lift up!). The first dance involved the wedding party getting on the dance floor to get the dancing going, and they finished off the evening with everyone up on the dance floor.
The most memorable part of the day was the speeches, because Gulshan did her own speech which I really loved. Unfortunately it’s not that common for brides to do speeches still and the feminist in me was really pleased that Gulshan decided to say a few words.
The couple
Gulshan wore a gorgeous Pol Nunez gown and Jack wore a Huntsman London suit and they looked so amazing. Gulshan’s flowers were beautiful, her bouquet was mostly made up of whites and greens. This was by Fine Flowers.
Gulshan and Jack’s wedding had such a chilled vibe and was such a lovely day. Here’s their Weston Park wedding!
