The Wroxeter Hotel Wedding – Lucy & Jack

the wroxeter wedding

Lucy & Jack got married on a gloriously sunny day at The Wroxeter in Telford. The Wroxeter is such a gorgeous Shropshire venue with beautiful surrounding countryside and views of The Wrekin.

Lucy and Jack didn’t want a full day of wedding photography so I created them a package with reduced coverage, I was with them for four hours which was just enough time to photograph a little bit of bridal prep up until their speeches. I offer reduced coverage on weekdays and also select winter dates. Lucy and Jack booked me after I shot their friend’s Ella & Tom’s wedding.

I arrived at bridal prep to find Lucy looking absolutely stunning and also feeling a little nervous before the ceremony. After she’d popped her dress on she looked so beautiful she even had some of The Wroxeter’s staff in tears! After their gorgeous outdoor ceremony I loved going around Lucy and Jack’s guests getting as many candids as I could. Getting the natural photographs is one of my favourite parts of the day so I loved that I had so much time to do this!

After their guests had migrated a little further towards the bar area I went for a walk around The Wroxeter’s grounds with Lucy and Jack for their portrait session. Having shot there so many times I have to try hard to ensure I don’t simply replicate shots I’ve already taken, this is why shooting at a venue I’ve never shot at before is often a good thing! The Wroxeter has so many interesting areas though that this was very easy to avoid. Lucy and Jack were really lovely together and it was clear to see they have a really good connection, this is so important when I’m shooting couple portraits!

After their speeches I popped back outside with Lucy and Jack to grab a couple more shots of them together before I left. For these we went round the back of the tipi, in summer the tipi is surrounded by gorgeous wildflowers, when Lucy and Jack got married some of these had died back however the yellow flowers were still going strong. I love how different The Wroxeter looks at different times of the year!

Thank you so much Lucy & Jack for having me along for your day!
