Kate and Liam got married at the spectacular Mill Barns, which is a barn venue in Alveley in Bridgnorth. It was such a happy day and even the rain didn’t dampen the day!
Bridal prep
Kate got ready in the downstairs prep room at The Mill Barns with her bridesmaids, and the atmosphere was really relaxed. Kate was such a chilled out bride, she even let me take her dress out of the room so I could get a pretty epic shot of it hanging between their love sign in the main area at the venue. The bride then walked up the stairs to get to the ceremony. Liam was stood at the front of the ceremony room eagerly awaiting Kate’s arrival. The nerves were starting to show a bit but he had his best man, Jack stood next to him for support.
Getting hitched
The ceremony was a lovely civil service in a beautiful room at the venue. Kate and Liam had made so many things for their wedding that in the process of their planning they actually set up their own wedding hire business called Bluebell Occassions. Basically everything you see in this blog post was made by Kate and Liam and is available to hire out for your own wedding! The ceremony room at The Mill Barns is beautiful anyway but they improved it even more by adding a mountain of bunting and helium balloons lining the aisle. During the ceremony they had their super cute page boy bring them their wedding rings on a personalised embroidery hoop. It was a really emotional service and really personalised.
After the Ceremony at The Mill Barns
The reception was in the barn at the venue. They chose Mill Barns because it has so many options and they could totally personalise it. It was a DIY wedding, which Kate and Liam really excelled at, being creative people. I love shooting DIY weddings because they’re always really personalised and special. The Mill Barns is a great place to have a DIY wedding as it provides a very simple backdrop that you can totally personalise, however crazy your ideas are!
They drinks and ice cream in the afternoon, and a photobooth in the evening. The photobooth was really impressive, it was really pretty and again, it was a prop that Kate and Liam had made themselves and is now available to hire out through their business. They decorated the venue with foliage and embroidery hoops, because they fit in so well with their overall look for their wedding. I loved the use of embroidery hoops with quotes embroidered on each table, I felt this really added something extra special to their set up. It also displayed more of Kate’s creative talents.
For dinner they had a slap up meal, which was absolutely delicious. The first dance was really lovely, it was just the two of them on the dancefloor for the first half of the song and then lots of their friends and family came up to join them, and they finished off the evening with a sparkler exit. The most memorable part of the day was the ceremony, because it was so romantic and personal.
The couple
Kate wore a gorgeous Claire Mischevani dress and Liam wore a lovely blue suit from Dapper Dan and they looked so incredible together. Kate’s veil was really awesome and unusual, she’d had it dyed blue to fit in with their colour theme. It’s the first coloured veil I’ve seen and I thought it looked amazing! She also had a very cool customised leather jacket that she wore later in the evening. There was a quote on it from a Kodaline song that said “‘Cause you make my heart feel like summer, when the rain is pouring down.” Kate and Liam’s day was unfortunately quite rainy but the quote on her jacket fit in so well with their day it absolutely had to feature in some of their couple portraits!
Kate and Liam’s wedding was totally epic and such a laugh. Here’s their wonderful Mill Barns wedding!
