Apley Woods Engagement Shoot – Kate & Liam

Kate and Liam got married in June at The Mill Barns in Bridgnorth. We did their engagement shoot the month before their wedding in Apley woods, which is a local woodland in Shropshire. I love doing shoots in Apley woods, it’s really easy to get to and there are loads of beautiful areas for photographs there. I never have a set path that I walk with couples when I do shoots there, I tend to just chat and wander around trying to find the good light. And boy did we find the good light for Kate and Liam’s session! I love spring sunlight, especially when it’s coming through the trees, it create such a warmth to the images.

Kate and Liam brought along their dog Ted to their shoot which I of course absolutely loved! We made sure to involve him in the shoot as much as possible while also getting some photographs of just Kate and Liam by themselves. When I was the shooting the ones of them by themselves I held ted by the lead in one hand and shot with the other. I’m more than happy to multitask when it comes to dogs!

We had a good wander round Apley woods, chatting about their wedding and also the joys and woes of house buying! I’d shot two of Kate and Liam’s friend’s weddings previously so I was really excited to see them again at their wedding. It’s always really lovely when couples book me on a recommendation from another couple, it’s literally the highest compliment!

Kate and Liam’s wedding at The Mill Barns was absolutely beautiful. I really can’t wait to share it on here Keep checking back onto the blog, it’ll be up next week!
