Humanist Walton Hall Wedding – Sinead & Daniel

Walton Hall's bespoke Warwickshire humanist vows

“We first came across Lisa’s work via social media (Instagram), we really loved the quality of the photographs and how perfect the pictures were! We loved the style and the way she captured things “in the moment”. We wanted a photographer who would capture the real moments and not just those that are posed or staged. Daniel called Lisa to discuss being our wedding photographer, and we got such a good vibe from her, we knew she was the one!

Having Lisa on the day was so awesome! It was like having one of your friends with you (she is very professional though don’t get me wrong!). She just made us feel so relaxed and so at ease, nothing was a chore for her! She is such a positive smiley person and so relaxed, all of our friends commented on how great she was on the day. When she needed to, she blended into the background so well that she was able to capture some really amazing unsuspecting moments.

We received our slideshow on Daniel’s Birthday and when I saw it, I cried. I never appreciated how much of the day goes so fast, so when I saw the slideshow and saw moments that I hadn’t seen on the day it was so amazing! The next day when we received the full set, it was so amazing. The photos told the story of our whole day, it was like reliving it all over again. There were so many beautiful moments that she had captured. She is very intuitive, she captured pictures and moments of people that were very important to us, without us having to even tell her! The quality of the photos was amazing and we couldn’t fault them at all!

If you’re thinking about booking Lisa for your wedding photography, don’t hesitate, do it! You will not be disappointed!”

Sinead and Daniel got married in September at the beautiful Walton Hall, which is a gorgeous hotel in Warwickshire. It was a beautiful day and the sun shone all day long!

Getting Ready

Sinead got ready at Walton Hall with her maid of honour and her parents, and the atmosphere was full of excitement. My favourite bit of prep had to be the opening of the champagne, Sinead’s Maid of Honour popped it open and everyone had a little drink. I took one of my favourite photographs of the day during Sinead’s bridal prep. It’s the black and white photograph of the back of the veil, I absolutely love how the light is catching the veil in this shot and how Sinead is holding her arms. This totally reminds me of all the prewedding nerves and gives me an insight into what Sinead must have been feeling at this point in the day. As soon as I took this shot I knew it was going to be a favourite!

Humanist Ceremony at Walton Hall

The ceremony was a humanist service in the main hall. Walton Hall is very grand with a stunning chandelier and lots of big windows. I absolutely loved this room for a ceremony, the light was perfect due to all the windows and the chandelier in particular looks beautiful during the photographs of their handfasting. During the ceremony they had a beautiful reading. It was such a personal service and so unique. Their humanist celebrant had gathered up lots of information from them prior to their wedding so that she could really personalise the service and talk about how they got together and all the funny and wonderful things that have happened since they met. I love humanist celebrations, they’re often so much more relaxed than a legal service and also mean you can get married wherever you want, there are no restrictions of having to do in inside etc. It’s definitely worth looking into a humanist ceremony if you’d like to get married outside, in England especially!

After the ceremony

The reception was in the bar at the venue. They chose Walton Hall because the light is gorgeous and it’s the perfect setting. I love shooting humanist weddings because they’re always so relaxed. They had a drinks reception in the afternoon, and a live band in the evening. They decorated the venue with flowers and candles, because they wanted to keep it simple For dinner they had a slap up meal, which was absolutely delicious. The first dance was a romantic slow dance, and they finished off the evening with everyone doing shots!

The couple

Sinead wore a Rembo Styling dress and Daniel wore a Paul Smith suit and they looked so incredible.

Sinead and Daniel’s wedding was just the happiest occasion and everything I love about weddings. Here’s their wonderful Walton Hall wedding!
