Ellesmere College Wedding – Tess & Sean

“We really liked the example photos Lisa had published on her website. We preferred that there seemed to be very few posed photographs, instead, just lots of photos taken of people acting naturally, enjoying themselves, caught in the moment. This more informal, laid back approach was something we much preferred to more “traditional” wedding photographs.

Working with Lisa on the day was so easy. We’d met Lisa before the wedding for an engagement shoot (something we’d not really thought about but having done it would highly recommend) so we’d got used to a bit of posing and gave an opportunity for the three of us to meet. On both occasions, Lisa made it feel really natural to pose in front of the camera. She managed to coral 120 people into the right position really quickly and got some awesome photos of us all together. Then, once we’d done the group photos and a some of just the two of us, she continued to move about and get some great photos. Lisa always made us feel relaxed in front of the camera and gave us easy to follow directions. Lisa also gave us a lot of confidence, it was so nice to know we had someone that we could trust to be getting on with what we needed her to do, without having to worry about it.

The photographs are amazing! The photos Lisa took of our friends and family as they arrived are great, catching people chatting and greeting each other. Lisa’s suggestion for a circle around us to throw confetti was awesome and the picture is *so* good, full of smiling happy faces. Lisa scouted out the venue for some great places to take photos of the two of us, in places I’d never have even thought to suggest, and they make for a fantastic backdrop. And the photos Lisa took during the firework display are just…wow!

If you’re looking for someone to photograph the important things at your wedding, you and your guests having a great time, then you should definitely hire Lisa. She’ll take pictures that really capture the fun, love and happiness from your wedding day. Lisa is friendly, has a great sense of humour and bent over backwards to help us on our wedding day. Our personalities really come across in the photos Lisa took and she personalised her service to match what we wanted. Additionally, and I can’t stress enough how important this is, Lisa really helps put your mind at rest in the run up to the wedding. She always responded to emails, always answered all the our questions and always made us feel like we were important to her. As the stress levels start to rise in the run up to your wedding day, knowing you can trust Lisa to be getting on with what she’s supposed to be doing, is a massive load off your mind!”

Tess and Sean had the most beautiful wedding at Ellesmere College back in August. We’d done their engagement shoot earlier in the month at Wenlock Priory so I knew that their wedding day was going to be just as lovely! I’d never shot at Ellesmere College before, it’s quite an exclusive venue so it’s not just open for everyone to get married in. To get married at Ellesmere College you either need to have been a past student, or you need a connection with the college. Tess’s dad worked at the college for many years so it was really meaningful to Tess and Sean to get married there.

Tess and Sean opted not to have their prep covered and just asked me to arrive at Ellesmere college in the morning and photograph them and their guests arriving. This was also a great opportunity for me to have a good look around the college and the college grounds so that I could pick out a few places where we could do their group shots and couple portraits later on in the day. I was blown away by how beautiful the college is! There were so many areas inside particularly that were perfect for their couple portraits. It has the most amazing massive windows outside the church that I knew we had to use these for some of their shots.

One aspect of Tess and Sean’s wedding that I was really looking forward to was the fireworks. I knew it was a bit of a surprise for all of their guests and I was so excited to photograph them! It was really wonderful seeing everyone’s reactions to the fireworks, I couldn’t believe how long the display lasted, it was such an amazing end to the night!

If you’re getting married at Ellesmere College then feel free to get in touch, I would love to hear from you!
