“I remember having a discussion with Stefan about photography and him saying ‘I’m unsure about a photographer. I hate standing for forced photos that end up looking unnatural. All wedding photos end up looking to same to me’
I took this as my personal mission to prove him wrong. For me the photos were really important as those are the things that are going to last forever – these are the images you will show your children and grandchildren and you want them to be special, but still fit your personality.
I was looking for a photographer whose style was creative, natural and beautiful. When I found Lisa’s Instagram account, she ticked all the those boxes, and I knew she had to be our wedding photographer.
Working with Lisa on the day was really lovely. She was so professional, even when things weren’t going quite so well in the morning (Burnt suits and missing cars!)
Our Best Man still goes on about her amazing tool belt and says she was the coolest photographer ever!
She is just so lovely and she made the experience really fun. Thinking about the ladder not working, and Stefan whispering ‘asparagus’ in my ear to make me giggle for a photo still makes me laugh. We were completely relaxed and it shows in our photos. Lisa was a fantastic addition to our day.
When we saw our final images we cried, lots. It was really lovely getting the sneak peaks the day after the wedding and were great for putting on our thank you cards.
We were so happy with the pictures, they looked so natural and not staged at all. Some amazing moments were captured of our day of all our guests, which was really lovely because being a bride and groom is so crazy, you don’t manage to see everything; but we got to see them through our photos.
I’ve had so many compliments from our friends and family saying the photos are some of the prettiest they’ve ever seen. Lisa, we can’t thank you enough for capturing our day. I still love flicking through the album.
You really won’t regret hiring Lisa because the end result for us was mind-blowing. Lisa was able to provide our dream photography and more. We cannot recommend enough.
Thank you Lisa, we’ll always be grateful for your professionalism, calming-personalisty, sense of humour and your fantastic photography!”
Lucy and Stefan got married in autumn at the rustic Pimhill Barn, which is a shabby chic barn in Shropshire. It was a beautiful day and the sun shone all day long!
Bridal prep
Lucy got ready in the bridal suite at Pimhill Barn with her bridesmaids and parents, and the atmosphere was full of excitement. The bride then walked with her dad the short distance to get to the ceremony. I arrived at the ceremony room to find Stefan anxiously waiting for Lucy’s arrival!
Civil Ceremony at Pimhill Barn
The ceremony was a beautiful service in the barn. Pimhill Barn is really suited to autumnal ceremonies because it’s such a cosy looking venue. Lucy and Stefan had decorated the barn with lots of fairy lights and bunting. During the ceremony they had a beautiful reading. It was such a lovely service and so personal. One of my favourite bits of the ceremony for me had to be their first kiss, I had such a great vantage point straight down the centre of the aisle and could capture them with all the fairy lights behind them. After the ceremony we went outside and all their guests came up to them to give them a hug and congratulate them. We then lined everyone up for the confetti shot. I love confetti shots because they always result in the funniest confetti faces and confetti always looks amazing!
Party at Pimhill
The reception was in the same room at the venue. They chose Pimhill Barn because they could have the place for the whole weekend and this meant they could spend more time decorating it. The wedding was loosely themed around the Shakespeare play, Romeo and Juliet, as Lucy and Stefan first met acting in a production of that play. In their production Lucy was Juliet and Stefan wasn’t Romeo, but Paris, they’d changed the table plan accordingly! I love shooting Pimhill Barn weddings because the photo ops are absolutely amazing. There’s so much space and choice at Pimhill for couple portraits. Lucy and Stefan let me spend a lot of time on their wedding day getting some really lovely photographs of the two of them, I love when my couples allow me to do this.
They had gin and tonics all round in the afternoon, and a pizza truck in the evening. I love pizza trucks at weddings, it’s a really laid back way of serving food and they’re always delicious. They decorated the venue with fairy lights, bunting and lots of autumnal colours, because they wanted to keep it seasonal. I thought the barn looked absolutely great and it was obvious they’d spent a lot of time putting it all together.
For dinner they had a slap up meal, which was absolutely delicious. The first dance was a slow dance that then involved Stefan lifting Lucy off her feet a couple of times, and they finished off the evening with a ceilidh. I LOVE ceilidhs at weddings, they’re always so much fun and get everyone involved. People can sometimes be really shy to get on the dance floor at some weddings but a ceilidh really solves that problem!
The most memorable part of the day was the dancing, because it made everyone laugh.
The couple
Lucy wore a Catherine Deane wedding gown and Stefan wore an Empire Outlet suit and they looked so incredible. Lucy’s flowers were beautiful and really in keeping with the time of year and they were by Ivison Lichfield Florist.
Lucy and Stefan’s wedding was so much fun and totally epic. Here’s their amazing Pimhill Barn wedding!
