Autumnal Iscoyd Park Wedding – Paula & Alex

Rustic elegance and autumnal charm collide at Iscoyd Park

“Lisa, they are absolutely wonderful photos…we found ourselves totally reliving the feelings we had at the time, from laughter to tears and friendship to love..you totally captured the moments xxx You were right about the autumn colours too… the ones under the tree at the entrance to Iscoyd are just beautiful. In fact many of our guests commented on how great you were!
I’m proud to say that I take a terrible selfie and so I was apprehensive about choosing a wedding photographer until I saw Lisa’s work! Her relaxed approach and ability to capture moments really appealed to us and from our initial contact, we knew Lisa was the one! She quickly understood what we were about as a couple and what our wedding meant to us, our family and friends.
She was ever present but totally professional and a wonderfully calming presence during the bridal preparations. Having felt a little awkward during the photos in the grounds, we really got into it by the end, which is testament to her knowledge of the venue and making us feel completely comfortable and putting us at ease throughout. Even with the children following her around all evening she was so gentle and patient, it was a true pleasure to have her with us.
We are just so thrilled with our beautiful photographs.  We keep looking through them and not just reliving the day but finding new emotions in the images every time. It is always sad once the day is over but receiving that beautiful box and its wonderful contents kept it going that bit longer.
Lisa, you truly captured the spirit of wedding and are so pleased that we chose you. We just wish we could do it all over again.”

Paula and Alex got married in October at the spectacular Iscoyd Park, which is a stunning country house in Shropshire. It was the most beautiful wedding and we got really lucky with the weather!

The excitement before the wedding

Paula got ready in the bridal suite at Iscoyd Park with her bridesmaids and flower girls, and the atmosphere was absolutely electric. When I first arrived everything was very calm, Paula was just starting to get ready for the day ahead. Halfway through bridal prep her flower girls arrived which made for a very lively bridal prep! These two were so excited and it definitely rubbed off on everyone else. The girls then walked down the staircase together to get to the ceremony.

Civil Ceremony at Iscoyd Park

The ceremony was an intimate service in a beautiful room at the venue. Iscoyd Park’s ceremony room is lovely and light, with big windows. This creates some really lovely light on the couple as they say their I dos. During the ceremony they had several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was so emotional and such a personal service. Paula and Alex only had their closest friends and family for their ceremony and their reception. I love shooting intimate weddings as you tend to get to know the guests really well and it means the bride and groom have a really good chance to properly chat with all their guests. Paula and Alex invited more people to their evening do which I thought was a really good idea, it meant they would have a really good party and also not miss anyone out!

The afternoon

The reception was in the library at the venue. They chose Iscoyd Park because it has so many options and they just fell in love with it. It was a family orientated wedding, which I love, it was really obvious that the most important thing in the world to Paula and Alex is their family. I love shooting Iscoyd Park weddings because they’re always absolutely amazing. I’m a recommended photographer for Iscoyd Park so I tend to shoot there a few times a year. With some venues this can get a bit samey but Iscoyd is wonderful because there are so many different spots for couple portraits.

They had drinks and canapes in the afternoon, and a pizza truck in the evening. During their drinks reception in the library they had the fire on, I really loved this little touch as it was quite cold outside due to it being autumn so it really gave it a very cosy feel. They decorated the venue with flowers and tealights, because they wanted to keep it simple. Iscoyd doesn’t really need much decoration because it’s beautiful without adding anything to it. One of the little details that I really loved was that Paula and Alex had had an illustrator draw a portrait of all of their guests to use as their name card. This also doubled up as a wedding favour which is a great idea. I couldn’t get over how accurate the illustrations were!

For dinner they had a roast dinner, which was absolutely delicious. Iscoyd’s food is always amazing, which is another reason I just love shooting there! The first dance included some of their close friends and family, and they finished off the evening with lots of dancing.

The most memorable part of the day was the ceremony, because it was so romantic and personal.

The couple

Paula wore a Jesus Piero wedding dress and Alex wore a Ted Baker suit and they looked so gorgeous. Paula’s hair and make up was by Sophie Bruno. I’ve worked with Sophie a few times and I’m always really impressed with her work, Paula and her bridesmaids looked absolutely flawless!

Paula and Alex’s wedding was just the happiest occasion and so chilled. Here’s their wonderful wedding!
