“Oh Lisa they’re absolutely PERFECT I can’t get over how amazing the pictures are. I knew you were good but oh my God they’re just amazing. You were exceptional on the day and everyone has commented. You made our day and we are so grateful of that. We have laughed we have cried, you have captured our wedding perfectly. We cannot thank you enough, you are incredibly talented and we wouldn’t have to think twice about recommending you to others. I am so glad Elisha recommend you to us!”
Nicole and Jon got married in March at the lovely Hundred House, which is an understated country pub venue in Bridgnorth, Shropshire. It was a beautiful day and the sun shone all day long!
THE EXCITEMENT BEFORE THE WEDDING
Nicole got ready in the bridal prep suite of The Hundred House with her bridesmaids, and the atmosphere was so calm. Things started to get emotional after Nicole got into her dress, her bridesmaids reactions were all so lovely! She didn’t want to make her Dad entering the room into a big deal as she knew if it was she’d cry, and she didn’t want to ruin her make up before the ceremony. Her dad’s reaction was brilliant, and he, along with her bridesmaids all managed to keep her calm before she said ‘I do’. She then walked down the stairs and across the courtyard to get to the ceremony.
THE VOWS
The ceremony was an intimate affair in the barn. There were fairy lights everywhere, giving the barn a very cosy feel. Just before Nicole and her bridesmaids walked up the aisle, Jon’s nerves started to show, but he managed to calm himself down by taking a few steady breaths. Nicole practically ran up the aisle, partly due to nerves and partly because she couldn’t wait to see Jon and their beautiful little boy, Jenson. During the ceremony they had a beautiful reading. It was such a personal service and so meaningful. After the ceremony we headed outside for the confetti shot and to let all their guests congratulate them. The confetti shot was brilliant, little Jenson even managed to sneak in on the action in the background.
AFTER THE CEREMONY
The reception was in the bar at the venue. They chose Hundred House because it’s so cosy and relaxed and the food is incredible. It was a really relaxed wedding, which suited Nicole and Jon down to the ground. I love shooting The Hundred House weddings because it’s always so chilled. The gardens are also really beautiful, they’re a great feature of The Hundred House and are quite hidden away so it’s the perfect area to use for couple portraits.
They had a drinks reception in the afternoon, and a photobooth in the evening. A photobooth is always a great addition to a wedding, as it gives guests something extra to do in the evening and also gives them a souvenir from the wedding. They decorated the venue with fairy lights and florals, because it worked so well with the time of year. Their tables were named after all the places around the world that they had visited together, I really loved this personal touch.
For dinner they had Afternoon Tea, which was absolutely delicious. Afternoon Tea is a great wedding food option, not only does it look great but it tastes amazing too! It’s also a great option if you want something a bit less formal than a sit down, three course meal. The first dance was a romantic slow dance, and they finished off the evening with lots of crazy dancing. The party was incredibly wild, which is exactly what I like to see at a wedding.
The most memorable part of the day was when all their guests put bets on how long the speeches would last, because the loser of each table had to drink a shot or do a forfeit. The forfeit’s were brilliant and completely hilarious, one of them involved one of the (sober!) guests walking the length of the top table as a chicken. They also had a cake table during the party – it was such a great idea, you can never have too much cake!
THE COUPLE
Nicole wore an Anna Sorrano gown and Jon wore a River Island suit and they looked so wonderful together. Nicole’s flowers were absolutely stunning, they were by Louise McCaw and Jon’s suit was really lovely, it was a grey check suit, that he looked very dapper in.
Nicole and Jon’s wedding was just the happiest occasion and had such a fun atmosphere. Here’s their stunning wedding!
