Ashley and James had their engagement shoot at The Ercall, right next to The Wrekin in Shropshire. The Ercall is about a 5 minute drive from my house and consists of some really gorgeous woodland, when Ashley and James suggested it for their shoot I loved the idea! I love doing woodland engagement shoots, especially in Spring time when the flowers and leaves are just starting to grow again.
I knew as soon as Ashley and James got in touch that we would get on really well. When we were planning their engagement shoot they asked me if they could bring along their Springer Spaniel, Indy, it was of course an absolute yes! We were chatting none stop during their shoot, about their wedding plans and also life in general! Ashley works for Shropshire Petals so we of course had a little chat about their confetti plans! (Spoiler alert, it was awesome, I’m going to be sharing their wedding on the blog really soon!).
I loved what Ashley and James wore for their engagement shoot, they both just so happen to own really beautiful bright coats (I still have coat envy!). They didn’t plan the colours for the shoot but they really popped in the photographs. Ashley and James are such bright and lovely people I absolutely adored how their clothes basically projected their personalities into the photographs.
Indy of course was an angel on the shoot! She unfortunately couldn’t go to Ashley and James’ wedding but bringing her along to their engagement shoot was a really lovely way to include her in some way. She was clean for approximately 5 minutes before she got really muddy and then had a bit of swim! For some of Ashley and James’ engagement photographs we went down into a bit ditch (a pretty ditch). I didn’t forward plan AT ALL for when we needed to get out of the ditch but Indy was an absolute legend and literally towed me out. She’s a lot stronger than she looks!
When Ashley and James received their engagement shoot photographs, they said:
“Thank you for working your magic and capturing two people that aren’t big on being photographed in a really natural way. We’re super excited about the wedding day, not long now, thank you for being a part of it all with us.”
I’ll be blogging their gorgeous Pimhill wedding very soon, so keep your eyes peeled!
