Staffordshire Family Shoot

Family shoots are always really enjoyable, whether I’ve met you and done a shoot with you before or if we’re complete strangers. Ewa found me on the app Peanut, which I downloaded and used very briefly before my son was born. I actually found the app a bit overwhelming (it’s a bit like Tinder but for new mums to connect) so I deleted it not long after downloading it but I’m glad I went on there very briefly for Ewa to find me! Ewa’s son was born 4 days before mine which was really lovely, it meant we were at the exact same place with our postpartum journey so we really connected and got along really well.

Before the shoot Ewa sent me photographs of the 4 of them, including a photo of their lovely dog, Ted! Anyone who includes their dog in their family shoot is a person after my own heart. I was so chuffed when Ewa said they would be bringing Ted along to the shoot too. Ewa and Matt had just moved house before we did their shoot (absolutely hats off to them for moving house straight after having a baby!) so they decided they would like the shoot outside rather than at their home because it didn’t quite feel like theirs yet. We headed out to some beautiful woods and fields not far from their home in Staffordshire and got some beautiful, natural photos of their little family.

Lucas was 3 months old when we did this shoot so we planned as best we could around nap times (which at this stage are ever changing!) and he did so well to last until the end of the shoot when he was very much ready for a nap! I love doing newborn shoots but it’s also wonderful to do a shoot with babies who are a few months old, you really start being able to see their personality at this stage, it’s absolutely wonderful!

Thank you so much to Ewa and Matt for choosing me to capture your family. If you’re looking for a family photographer in Shropshire or Staffordshire then get in touch, I would love to hear from you!
