Pimhill Barn at Lea Hall is a gorgeous DIY wedding venue in the heart of the Shropshire Countryside. Jess & Henry celebrated their marriage here in May this year and what a wonderful day it was! When I arrived I began by photographing all the little details in the barn. As Pimhill is a DIY venue it was up to the bride and groom, Jess and Henry to decorate the barn. DIY venues are some of my favourites as you can really add lots of personal touches to them to make them completely ‘you’.
Hair and make up was well underway when I made my way into bridal prep, the Courthouse at Pimhill where bridal prep takes place has some gorgeous windows that let through lots of beautiful light, resulting in some really beautiful photographs!
Their ceremony took place at All Saints Church nearby in Clive, Shrewsbury. It was a gorgeous ceremony with the vicar even getting in on the confetti throwing action! The newlyweds left the church in a tractor, which was the perfect wedding transport for them as Henry is a farmer and Jess also works in the farming industry! The farmer theme ran throughout the wedding, their reception being held at Pimhill Barn, the groom’s buttonhole was made from a shotgun cartridge and of course, the tractor!
One of my favourite areas of Pimhill is the gardens, they’re stunning around this time of year and made the perfect backdrop for their bride and groom couple portraits. After we’d done their portrait session I borrowed Jess and Henry’s wedding rings and Jess’ engagement ring and went back into the gardens to get a creative ring shot. I always like to take time out in a wedding day to get this shot!
It was then time for the first dance and the party! Jess and Henry’s first dance was lovely and ended with a beautiful embrace between the two of them. The ensuing party was brilliant, everyone was up on the dance floor having a good time and celebrating with the two of them!
After their wedding I asked Jess and Henry to take a bit of time to write about why they chose me and what it was like working with me. They said…
“We chose Lisa because the photos she took looked really natural and relaxed. The lighting always looked lovely and we liked the rural, rustic theme of some of the shots, which we wanted too. Working with Lisa on the day was really easy and enjoyable, she wasn’t intrusive or bossy just quietly and happily got on with the job with a smile on her face and she was a really nice presence to have around, especially on the morning of the wedding. The final pictures are great, lovely quality and Lisa captured moments beautifully, everyone who has seen them has commented how beautiful the images are. She made everyone look lovely and the weather look better than it was! I would certainly recommend Lisa to other couples, she delivered everything we asked of her and was lovely to work with.”
