“We knew when we first started planning our wedding that we needed a photographer that we loved the work of, that captured the moment just perfectly and all the while keep everything relaxed and unposed as we’re not the most photogenic of people. Lisa was the perfect choice!
We had an engagement photoshoot in the local woods with our dog Indy and it was the ideal way for us to meet Lisa for the first time in the flesh and settle any pre-wedding nerves. Not only was the shoot one of the best dog walks ever, but Lisa captured the very essence of who we are and of course Indy too. We both felt at total ease even though we’re not usually very comfortable in front of the camera. We knew she was the right person for our wedding day!
Lisa was very thorough and checked important details before the big day so nothing was left to chance. When the big day came around, Lisa was a total natural with all our family and friends, she captured all the important big moments with a beautiful style, but also the little moments that could have easily been forgotten. She was so thoughtful and creative, and went above and beyond any of our expectations, we trusted her completely and we’re so happy with the results. Throughout the whole day everything was so easy going and relaxed.
We can’t thank her enough for capturing our most special day, we’re truly in love with all our photos, and would recommend Lisa again and again. If we could do it all again we’d choose Lisa every time! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”
Pimhill Barn Wedding
When someone who works at Shropshire Petals gets married you know that confetti is going to be an absolute must! Ashley and James chose Pimhill Barns for their gorgeous May wedding. I love Pimhill because weddings there are always really relaxed and because it’s a DIY venue, they’re all completely different. I met Ashley and James a few months before their wedding for their engagement shoot. During their engagement shoot we had a really good chat about their plans for their day, one of the parts I was really looking forward to was their TWO confetti moments!
When I arrived at Pimhill I had a sneaky little look in the barn to see their set up. It was absolutely gorgeous and it was obvious how much effort had been put in by them and their friends and family. I then made my way over to The Courthouse where Ashley was getting ready with her bridesmaids. The atmosphere was really chilled out, which after meeting Ashley and James at their engagement shoot, was exactly what I expected! When Ashley was ready her dad and step dad came to see her in her dress for the first time. It was such a lovely moment! Ashley’s dad and step dad both walked her up the aisle which was one of my favourite moments of their whole wedding.
After their gorgeous civil ceremony they made their way outside to be greeted by their first confetti moment of the day! Ashley is of course an expert in confetti so very much stuck with the rule of “there’s no such thing as too much confetti”. We then made our way into the gardens next to The Courthouse to take a few group shots and also to whisk Ashley and James away for their couple portraits. I could have photographed these two by themselves all day, they were so easy to shoot. Their was constant laughter and just absolute joy!
Shropshire Petals Confetti at Pimhill Barn
After their wedding breakfast they headed outside again for another confetti shot. They didn’t want anyone to miss out on the confetti action so they made sure to do their second confetti shot when all of their evening guests had arrived. Ashley and James provided 10 litres of confetti for this shot and it was absolutely epic. Rather than lining people up for this one, we had everyone form a horseshoe around the couple, I then counted them all down and they threw the 10 litres of confetti in one go. It resulted in my favourite confetti shot of all time and I’m dying to do it again! If you’re reading this and you want the same effect as above I’m absolutely up for shooting it again!
After all the confetti excitement we headed back in to Pimhill Barn for Ashley and James’ first dance. They had I Will Follow You into the Dark by Death Cab for Cutie as their first dance song which I absolutely loved, it’s one of my favourite songs of all time! Their band then started up and the dance floor was completely full for the rest of the evening! The only people that weren’t on the dancefloor were in the next room playing Snakes and Ladders as a drinking game!
Ashley and James’ Pimhill Barn wedding was so chilled out and I had the best time ever! If you’re getting married at Pimhill and you’re still looking for your photographer, I’d love to hear from you!
