Pimhill Barn at Lea Hall is a gorgeous DIY wedding venue in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. It was the perfect choice for Gemma and Todd’s November wedding.
One aspect of Pimhill that I always love is the courtyard where bridal prep usually takes place. The window that make up is generally done in front of gives such beautiful light, it’s perfect for these photographs!
I absolutely adored Gemma’s Engagement ring, when I spotted it I made sure to take some beautiful close up shots of it, it’s not often that I see colour in Engagement rings (and I see a lot of Engagement rings!) so I was thrilled when I saw Gemma’s gorgeous blue and diamond ring.
Getting married in November often means mud, because of this lovely bride Gemma had 3 pairs of shoes, including a pair of bridal wellys! I loved the idea of wellys on a wedding day, they’re so practical, especially for photographs outside after the ceremony.
If there’s one thing I’ll always love it’s an emotional groom, Todd got pretty teary when it came to the exchanging of rings, much to Gemma’s amusement! After their emotional ceremony we went outside for confetti, these are some of my favourite images of the day, especially when the confetti got in Todd’s mouth, that stuff honestly gets everywhere!
Pimhill is such a beautiful place for a Autumn wedding, there are so many trees throughout the grounds that had just turned such a beautiful orange colour for Todd and Gemma’s wedding. I can’t wait to shoot more Autumn weddings here!
In summer I like to get some more couple portraits later on in the evening as the sun’s going down. In autumn and winter months I still like to go outside with the bride and groom for more couple portraits, however this usually involves sparklers! Todd and Gem provided their guests with lots of sparklers so we were able to do a sparkler tunnel! This is similar to a confetti shot only with a bit more magic!
Thank you so much Todd and Gemma for choosing me to photograph your day!
