“Lisa did some branding shots for my interior design business and was excellent! I usually hate having my photo taken but I was immediately at ease with Lisa and actually enjoyed the shoot. Lisa has great ideas and knew how to create fantastic shots that suited my brand and business. Would definitely recommend. Thanks again Lisa!”

I recently had the pleasure of photographing Jennifer, the creative mind behind Hockhouse Designs, for her personal branding session. Jennifer is an interior designer with a passion for creating spaces that not only look beautiful, but feel right, spaces that lift your mood, support your lifestyle, and make every day just a little bit calmer. After retraining and making a complete career change, she’s now building her own interior design business from the ground up. This shoot was all about capturing that fresh start, her vision, and the heart behind her brand.
We held the session in Jennifer’s home, using her office as the main base and then exploring other areas of the house for extra variety. Shooting in her own environment worked perfectly, not only because it reflected her aesthetic, but because it allowed the images to feel authentic, personal, and grounded in her day-to-day workflow.
From the moment I walked in, it was obvious that Jennifer’s attention to detail is second nature. Her space is calm, welcoming, and thoughtfully put together, the perfect backdrop for a design-led branding shoot. We started with a set of relaxed headshots, images that show her warmth, approachability, and confidence as she steps into this new chapter. These are the kinds of photographs that future clients will instantly connect with when they visit her website or land on her Instagram feed.
We then moved into lifestyle moments: Jennifer at her desk, surrounded by sample books and swatches, sketching and planning. These images beautifully illustrate her process and bring her brand story to life. They’re the kind of shots that help clients visualise what it’s like to work with her, calm, considered, creative, and collaborative.
Jennifer’s brand will be living across her website, Instagram, and LinkedIn, so versatility was key. We captured a mix of portrait, detail, and workspace storytelling shots to give her everything she needs to build a cohesive visual identity. Her logo and brand colours, which she’s developing from her Instagram presence, guided the tones and textures throughout the session, helping to keep everything visually aligned.
What stood out most to me was Jennifer’s passion for the emotional side of interior design. For her, it’s not just about matching fabrics or choosing furniture, it’s about creating wellbeing through surroundings. That depth of purpose, combined with the excitement of launching a new venture, made this branding session feel especially meaningful.
I can’t wait to see Hockhouse Designs grow, evolve, and inspire. And I’m so excited for Jennifer to have a set of images that truly reflect her style, her story, and her vision for the clients she’s now welcoming, both locally and through her upcoming e-design service.
