Hannah & Liam’s Relaxed Family Session with a dog and a toddler

relaxed family session

One of the greatest joys of being a photographer is getting to walk alongside couples through different seasons of their lives, from the first days of engagement, to their wedding, and then into family life. Hannah and Liam are one of those couples I feel so lucky to know. I photographed their engagement session at Sefton Park, then their beautiful wedding at Iscoyd Park, and now I’ve had the privilege of capturing them as a family with their gorgeous rescue dog, Cece, and their little girl, Penelope.

A Relaxed Afternoon at the Park

We decided to keep things simple and natural, heading to a local park near their home for the shoot. It was the perfect setting, wide open spaces, soft greenery, and plenty of room for Penelope to toddle about and for Cece to have a good sniff around.

I always want family sessions to feel relaxed and real, and this one couldn’t have been more so. There were giggles as Penelope chased after Cece, sweet cuddles with mum and dad, and those little in-between moments that show exactly what life feels like right now.

Cece, the Star Pup

Of course, Cece had her moment in front of the camera too! She’s such a gentle soul and clearly adored by the whole family. I love when families include their pets in sessions, they’re such an important part of the story.

From Engagement to Family Life

For me, this session was extra special. Having photographed Hannah and Liam’s journey from engagement, to wedding, and now to family life, it feels like a full circle moment. Seeing them as parents, watching Penelope’s little personality shine, and capturing the love that’s only deepened since their wedding day, it’s exactly why I do what I do.

Hannah & Liam, thank you for inviting me back once again to capture your story. Sessions like these are such a reminder that photography isn’t just about one big day, it’s about the beautiful, ordinary, love-filled moments in between.
