Davenport House is a stunning country house wedding venue in Bridgnorth, Shropshire. I’ve captured a few weddings here over the years and every single one has been absolutely stunning. Becki and Mike’s wedding was no exception!
I met Becki and Mike for the first time a couple of months before their wedding to photograph their engagement session. During this shoot we had a great chat about their wedding plans and it was lovely to get to know them ahead of their day.
They had chosen to have their wedding in October which is one of my favourite months to shoot in because the autumn light is amazing. Every time I’ve shot at Davenport House I’ve had great light and this time didn’t disappoint either!
When I arrived I headed straight up to the bridal suite to capture Becki and her girls getting ready. The atmosphere was brilliant, everyone was so excited but also quite chilled at the same time which is a great vibe for your wedding morning! We were treated to some of this beautiful autumnal light during prep when it was flooding in through Davenport House’s elegant massive windows. These prep photographs are some of my favourites of the year this is very much down to the light!
Their ceremony took place in the beautiful main hall at Davenport and it was an emotional one! I’m always a big fan of emotions at weddings, don’t be afraid of having a cry, it makes your photographs so much better (obviously laughter is also very welcome!). I was lucky enough to be working alongside Raven and Wolf Films, I’ve worked with them a couple of times now and we always get along really well and their work is amazing. I absolutely adored Becki and Mike’s day and wish we could do it all over again. When I sent over their sneak peeks after the wedding Becki replied straight away saying…
“OMG LISA I CANT COPE WITH THESE PHOTOS THEY ARE INSANE!! I can’t even put into words how beautiful they are! You are so so talented, it was the best decision picking you to capture our day! Yes share away I want the whole world to see!! Thank you so much again I can’t wait to see the rest! “
