Chloe and Rob’s Bridal Barn wedding was one of those days that stays with you long after you’ve packed your cameras away. Thoughtful, creative, wildly fun and deeply rooted in sustainability, their August wedding felt like a true reflection of who they are and what they value.
From an outdoor woodland ceremony to a dancefloor-fuelled evening party, every part of the day was intentional, meaningful and handmade in the best possible way.

An Enchanted Woodland Ceremony at The Bridal Barn
Their ceremony took place outside on the hilltop woodland setting at The Bridal Barn, and honestly, it never fails to take my breath away. Tucked away in the Shropshire countryside, it feels like something out of a storybook. Ferns underfoot, trees framing the space, birdsong drifting through the air… it’s hard to believe somewhere this magical exists right here.
Chloe and Rob wanted their wedding to feel enchanted, whimsical and relaxed, and this setting delivered that effortlessly. It was intimate, emotional and completely grounded in nature.
Sustainability at the Heart of the Day
Sustainability wasn’t just a buzzword for Chloe and Rob, it was at the core of every decision they made.
They chose local suppliers wherever possible to reduce travel and carbon emissions, used petal confetti from Shropshire Petals, and embraced a DIY approach that added so much soul to the day.
So much of the wedding was handmade by Chloe herself:
- Their wedding invitations
- Table name tags (made from paper she literally created by hand)
- Their wedding favours
It was one of the most beautifully personal weddings I’ve photographed, nothing felt mass-produced or generic. Everything had a story.
A Wedding Dress With Generations Woven Into It
Chloe’s wedding dress deserves a section all of its own.
She made her own dress, adapting it from her mum’s wedding dress, which had originally been handmade by a friend. Not only that, she was still tweaking and amending it on the day of the wedding itself. Iconic behaviour.
For the evening celebrations, Chloe changed into a second outfit made from her old bedroom curtains, lovingly transformed into a dress by her dad. She absolutely rocked those curtains on the dancefloor.
Flowers Grown With Care
The florals were created by Queenie’s Floral Design, whose approach aligned perfectly with Chloe and Rob’s values. She only uses flowers that she grows herself and that are in season, resulting in arrangements that felt natural, abundant and completely in tune with the surroundings.
Nothing forced or imported. Just beautiful flowers, grown with care.
Music, Food & A Wild Evening Party
During the day, music was provided by the incredibly talented Helena Bowen on the harp. Her music added such a soft, magical atmosphere to the ceremony and drinks reception.
Food-wise, Chloe and Rob treated their guests to vegan Spanish tapas, and it was genuinely delicious. Sharing plates, incredible flavours, and the kind of food that brings people together, exactly the vibe they wanted.
In the evening, they took full control of the music with a playlist, and that party was… WILD. Dancing, shouting, joy everywhere. The kind of dancefloor where nobody is holding back and everyone is exactly where they want to be.
A Bridal Barn Wedding Shot on Digital & 35mm
I photographed Chloe and Rob’s Bridal Barn wedding using a mix of digital and 35mm film, which felt like the perfect fit for a day rooted in texture, craft and nostalgia.
Alongside photographing the day, I also collected physical mementos for their heirloom box, tangible pieces of their wedding that could be preserved and revisited for years to come. These included:
- A handful of their petal confetti
- Pinecones from the woodland floor
- One of their handmade table names
- A cork from their speech toast
- Flowers and fern from around the venue and décor, which I snipped and hand-pressed
These small details matter. They carry memory in a way photographs alone sometimes can’t.
Why I Loved This Bridal Barn Wedding
When Chloe and Rob’s enquiry landed in my inbox, I knew straight away that this was a wedding I wanted to be part of. Their plans, sustainable, creative and people-focused, were completely up my street.
They wanted relaxed, natural photography, weren’t particularly camera-confident, and cared deeply about the feel of their day rather than how it looked for anyone else.
If you’re planning a Bridal Barn wedding and dreaming of something nature-led, meaningful and unapologetically you, Chloe and Rob’s day is proof that you can do things differently, and beautifully.
