Bridal Barn Wedding – Verity & Dave

bridal barn wedding

“Lisa, are you kidding me?!? These photos are insane!!! You’re truly the most incredible photographer I’ve ever seen the work of and honestly the nicest most genuine girl I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. You made Dave and I feel so relaxed, so calm and so comfortable from start to finish. I cannot thank you enough for all you’ve done for us, you’ve photographed our dream exactly how I saw it through my eyes! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

wedding tug of war

Verity and Dave got married in August at the Bridal Barn, which is a modern barn in Shropshire. They had their ceremony at St Nicholas Church, which was a bus ride away. It was a beautiful day and the sun shone all day long!

Getting ready

Verity got ready at home with her bridesmaids and her mum, and the atmosphere was absolutely electric. She then jumped into a fancy wedding car to get to the ceremony. Her bridesmaids and mum hopped onto a vintage bus which also took some of their guests from the church to the Bridal Barn.

Getting wed

The ceremony was a beautiful service in a nearby church in Bridgnorth. It was a really cute church, it was so picturesque! During the ceremony they had several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was so beautiful and so personal.

The party

The reception was outside in the courtyard at Bridal Barn. It was a relaxed wedding, which is exactly the type of wedding I love. I love shooting Bridal Barn weddings because it’s got such a great atmosphere. The venue owner actually used to be a photographer himself and it’s quite clear in how the Bridal Barn has been put together that light is something that they’ve kept in mind. It was the most gorgeous big windows and in the grounds there’s a woodland clearing that was perfect for Verity and Dave’s couple portraits and would also be a great setting for a ceremony.

They had a live singer in the afternoon, and a tug of war and sparklers in the evening. The tug of war was one of my favourite parts of the day. So many people got involved and the rope was absolutely massive! They did best two out of three and Verity’s team won (of course!). They decorated the venue with lots of cake and flowers, because they’re the couple’s favourite things. I loved the cake table and the doughnut wall, in my opinion every situation can be improved by adding cake.

For dinner they had proper wedding grub, which was absolutely delicious. The first dance was to the gorgeous Skinny Love by Bon Iver (which is a bit of a favourite of mine!), and they finished off the evening with sparklers.

The funniest part of the day was the tug of war, hands down, because it made everyone laugh. I’m hoping this starts a trend and I see more tug of wars at next years weddings!

The couple

Verity wore an Elite wedding gown from Champagne and Roses and Dave wore a Next suit and they looked so perfect. Verity’s flowers were by the wonderful Ginger Lily. They’re my favourite florists so I’m always excited when I find out my couples have chosen them!

Verity and Dave’s wedding was totally epic and so laid back. Here’s their stunning wedding!
