Baschurch Wedding – Holly & James

Holly and James’ wedding was the perfect mix of classic, heartfelt, and relaxed – a true reflection of the kind of couple they are. Their day began with a touch of elegance at the Lion + Pheasant Hotel in Shrewsbury, where Holly got ready with her bridesmaid. The room was full of laughter, calm anticipation, and sweet moments – Holly looked absolutely radiant in her dress, and the atmosphere felt like a quiet celebration even before the day had properly begun.

Their ceremony took place at Baschurch Church, a beautiful and peaceful setting surrounded by countryside. The church was filled with emotion as they said their vows, with sunlight gently streaming through the windows and a real sense of love and support from everyone present.

After the ceremony, guests made their way to James’ parents’ garden, which had been transformed into the most charming reception space. With a marquee and thoughtful little details everywhere, it felt like stepping into a romantic countryside dream. We took some time for portraits in the garden and wandered into the nearby fields – everything was blooming, green, and golden, and the setting couldn’t have been more perfect.

One of my favourite shots of the whole day came just before sunset. The light was soft and golden, and we found a stunning spot right next to a rapeseed field – vibrant yellow stretching as far as the eye could see. I didn’t take them into the field itself (rapeseed can stain!), but standing just beside it, with that sunset glow behind them, made for the most dreamy, golden portraits.

As the evening rolled in, the garden came alive with music and laughter. Friends pulled out guitars, and spontaneous singalongs filled the air. There was something so magical about it – the kind of celebration that just grows naturally from people being together and having the best time.

Holly and James shared their first dance under the open sky, surrounded by all their favourite people. It was relaxed, joyful, and completely them.

Weddings like this one remind me why I love what I do. It wasn’t about grandeur – it was about meaning, connection, and celebrating in a way that felt right for them. Holly and James, thank you for having me there to capture it all. Your day was beautiful from start to finish, and I’m so happy you have these memories to look back on for years to come.
