Natalie and Chris opted to have their engagement shoot at the beautiful Attingham Park in Shropshire. I love doing engagement shoots here, Attingham Park has extensive grounds so every time I do a shoot here it always looks different and there’s always more to see! This was the first time I met Natalie and Chris ahead of their wedding in September so we were able to have a really good chat about their plans and what they were most excited for on the day. I always say that an engagement shoot is the photography version of menu tasting, it’s something really fun you can do in the lead up to your wedding and gives you a bit of a taster for what it will be like to work with me on the day.
As soon as we started walking around Attingham Park it was clear we were going to get on like a house on fire. Natalie and Chris are such funny, lovely people I had to remind myself to keep taking photographs and not just to chat the entire time! They chose Attingham Park because their wedding venue, The Mytton and Mermaid is literally just across the road so it was a really good excuse to use some spots nearby for photographs that we wouldn’t be able to use on their wedding day.
I never do much posing because I like to keep everything as natural as possible, I just give a bit of gentle direction every now and then. Natalie and Chris were so wonderful in front of the camera I barely needed to ask them to do anything! It was a lovely bright sunny day when we did their shoot, we decided to do it in August, just a month before their wedding so the shoot was still fresh in their mind on their wedding day and also meant that because they knew all their timings we could have a really good natter about the logistics of their wedding. I’ve since shot their beautiful wedding at The Mytton and Mermaid and I can confirm it was just as lovely as their engagement shoot, I’ll be sharing it here soon so keep your eyes peeled!
