Photographing Aimee and Rob’s wedding at the stunning Combermere Abbey was such a joy. Nestled on the Cheshire-Shropshire border, Combermere is one of my favourite venues—full of historic charm, romantic gardens, and elegant spaces to celebrate. Their ceremony took place in the beautiful Glasshouse, and the whole day had such a relaxed, joyful energy from beginning to end.
Aimee was pregnant on the day, which made everything feel even more special. There was such a strong sense of love, new beginnings, and excitement for the future. The way Rob looked at her as she walked down the aisle was one of those quiet, powerful moments I’ll never forget.
We started the day capturing all the anticipation and preparations—Aimee getting ready surrounded by her closest friends, the atmosphere calm but full of happy emotion. The Glasshouse at Combermere Abbey made the perfect setting for their ceremony, flooded with natural light and framed by the walled gardens outside. It’s a dream to photograph in and suits a relaxed, natural photography style perfectly.
After the ceremony, we explored the gardens for some couple portraits—taking full advantage of the springtime blooms and the peaceful, romantic feel of the estate. As always, I kept things laid-back, giving Aimee and Rob space to enjoy each other and soak up the moment, rather than feel posed or staged.
Throughout the day, I focused on capturing all those little in-between moments—the hand squeezes, the laughter, the looks exchanged when no one else was watching. These are the moments that bring wedding galleries to life, and this one was full of them.
