Every now and then, a shoot comes along that feels like pure joy from start to finish, and Kate and Blake’s engagement session was exactly that.
Earlier this year, I teamed up with Liv from Lunar Holistic Therapies to run a little competition as a way of giving something back. The prize was a free engagement session with me, plus a treatment each with Liv. Kate and Blake were our lucky winners, and I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect couple to gift this experience to.
A relaxed shoot at Haughmond Hill
We chose Haughmond Hill for their engagement session, a beautiful spot with open views, woodland paths, and plenty of space to wander and chat. From the moment we started, Kate and Blake were completely at ease together. There was so much laughter, natural affection, and those quiet little moments in between that say everything about a couple.
They didn’t need much direction at all. Most of the time, I simply let them walk, talk, and enjoy being together while I captured what unfolded naturally. Those are always my favourite sessions, when it feels less like a photoshoot and more like time well spent.

Why engagement shoots matter
An engagement session is about more than just photos. It’s a chance to slow things down, celebrate this chapter of your story, and get comfortable in front of the camera together. For Kate and Blake, it was also a lovely way to enjoy an experience that was just for them.
The laughter, the easy closeness, and the genuine connection between them made this session an absolute dream to photograph. Their images reflect exactly who they are, relaxed, fun, and clearly very happy together.
A lovely collaboration
It was such a pleasure collaborating with Liv at Lunar Holistic Therapies on this competition. Supporting couples and creating meaningful experiences together felt like a perfect fit, and Kate and Blake truly made the most of their prize.
Kate and Blake, thank you for trusting me to capture this special time for you. Your session was full of warmth and happiness, and I loved every minute of it.
