Lucy & Lewis’ Intimate Wedding at Shrewsbury Guildhall

Shrewsbury Wedding Photography

As a Shrewsbury wedding photographer, I get to photograph some truly special celebrations, and Lucy & Lewis’ wedding day was a perfect example of how lovely an intimate wedding in the heart of town can be.

They were married at the beautiful Guildhall in Shrewsbury, choosing a small and relaxed ceremony surrounded by their closest people. The Guildhall is such a brilliant venue for intimate weddings; central, full of character, and ideal when you want the focus to be on connection rather than scale.

Confetti by the River Severn

After the ceremony, we headed down towards the river for confetti. Lucy and Lewis chose petal confetti, which I always love photographing, it looks gorgeous as it falls and is completely biodegradable, making it perfect for riverside weddings in Shrewsbury.

With the river, historic buildings and soft movement of the petals, it was such a joyful moment and a really lovely way to celebrate straight after the ceremony.

Wedding Photos at The Quarry, Shrewsbury

From there, we made the short walk over the road to The Quarry for group photographs and couple portraits. One of the reasons I love being a wedding photographer in Shrewsbury is how many varied photo locations are all within walking distance. There’s no need to travel far, which keeps everything feeling relaxed and unhurried.

Lucy and Lewis’ labrador joined us for their couple portraits, wearing a floral collar made especially for the day. I always love when dogs are included in weddings, they’re such an important part of the family. We had our dog at our own wedding, so photographing couples who include their pets always feels extra special to me.

We explored some of my favourite Quarry spots together, The Dingle, the bandstand, and back by the river, each giving us a slightly different feel without ever being far from their guests.

Two Hours of Wedding Photography Coverage

Lucy and Lewis booked me for two hours of wedding photography coverage, which worked perfectly for their plans. In that time, we were able to photograph their ceremony at Shrewsbury Guildhall, confetti by the river, group photos, couple portraits, and lots of natural, candid moments in between.

Shorter coverage like this is ideal for intimate weddings in Shrewsbury, especially when everything is happening in one central location.

Finishing at The Loopy Shrew

I left Lucy and Lewis just after capturing their arrival at The Loopy Shrew, where they were heading for their wedding meal. Their guests had already arrived while we finished their couple portraits, which meant Lucy and Lewis walked in to cheers and big smiles, such a joyful moment to end their photography coverage on.
