Tunnels Beaches is an iconic costal wedding venue in North Devon. I trekked down here from my hometown of Shropshire to capture Lucy and Vic’s incredible wedding. Prior to their wedding, I’d met Lucy and Vic once before when we did their engagement shoot in Croyde Bay. For their engagement shoot we were super lucky to have incredible light, I was so looking forward to heading back to Devon to capture more of this gorgeous sunshine! And Tunnels Beaches did indeed deliver sunshine! It also delivered the most sudden and heavy downpour I’ve ever been in in all the weddings I have captured.

Being by the sea the weather can change really fast but Lucy and Vic were understandably really set on an outdoor ceremony. It was a bit touch and go beforehand but with their guests armed with umbrellas just incase they decided to go ahead and have their ceremony outside on Tunnels Beaches glorious deck overlooking the beach and sea. I’m a big fan of this expect the worst and hope for the best attitude and honestly it paid off! Lucy and Vic managed to get up the aisle, under the shelter of the gazebo adorned with gorgeous florals by Pumpkin and Pye and well in to their ceremony before the heavens suddenly opened. Cue all their guests very suddenly putting up their umbrellas and running (and I do mean literally running!) inside the venue. All the while Lucy and Vic were sheltered and dry under the archway. This moment was brilliant, it made their wedding so unique and the photographs we were able to capture were so funny. Thankfully for everyone it was very short lived and the rain went away just as quickly as it had arrived, leaving Lucy and Vic able to finish off the business of getting married!
Later on in the day we had the most glorious sunshine, mother nature was just giving us a full display of everything she could do. Tunnels Beaches is such a special venue and Lucy and Vic are such a special couple, I really wish we could do this one again. I have much more I could say about their wonderful wedding but I’ll leave you to take a look at their day…
