George & Lauren’s Beautiful Shropshire Farm Wedding

George & Lauren’s June wedding was everything I adore about Shropshire celebrations, filled with heart, family, community, and the kind of joy that wraps around you the moment you arrive. Their day began at St Michaels Church in Waters Upton, a small and peaceful setting where the morning light poured through the windows as everyone gathered to watch these two say their vows.

The ceremony was warm and emotional, with a quiet tenderness that set the tone for the entire day. And then came the moment I’ll never forget, George and Lauren stepping out of the church into a cloud of Shropshire Petals confetti. The way they looked at each other, the laughter, the cheers from their guests… it was pure joy. It’s my favourite photograph from the whole day.

From the church, everyone made their way to George’s family farm, where a marquee stood proudly in the field, a perfect setting for what can only be described as a classic Shropshire farmer wedding. Celebrating right on the land George knows so well gave the whole day a sense of home and authenticity. The marquee, provided by Show Systems, was beautifully transformed by Fran Collins of Docket 33, who brought a warm, elegant atmosphere into the rural setting.

Lauren looked stunning in her Pronovias gown, paired with Jimmy Choo shoes that caught the light beautifully as she moved. George and the groomsmen wore Peter Posh suits, sharp and classic, fitting perfectly with the relaxed countryside feel of the day. Their looks were completed with hair styling by Salon XV and Jordan, with flowers created by Ginger Lily Florist and exquisite faux florals by Susan Morgan adding subtle colour and texture throughout the venue.

As guests settled into the marquee, drinks flowed from HudsonRose and Tipple on Tap, while the most incredible food was prepared by Chef Stuart Collins of Docket 33 alongside Adam Purnell, the Shropshire Lad. It was a feast that felt both celebratory and comforting, exactly right for the setting. The wedding breakfast was served at 4pm, followed by speeches at 6pm that were full of humour, warmth, and the kind of stories only close-knit families can tell.

Throughout the afternoon and evening, music played a huge part in shaping the atmosphere. Amici String Quartet filled the earlier part of the day with soft, elegant notes, before Asparagus & the Kilburn Habit Skittle Band added their own lively charm. Later, AndySax brought his unmistakable energy, before DJ Coast2Coast and The Fireworks took the celebration late into the night. Guests drifted between dancing, laughing, grabbing drinks from the bar, and soaking in the summer air.

There were so many thoughtful touches woven throughout the day. The cake by CakeMule was a beautifully crafted centrepiece, complemented by a cheese and pork pie tower from Morgan’s Country Butchers, a crowd favourite, without a doubt. Shropshire Carriages provided the most lovely transport, adding an extra dash of countryside romance.

As evening approached, the light softened over the fields. George and Lauren cut their cake at 8:15pm before stepping onto the dance floor for their first dance at 8:30pm, surrounded by family, friends, and the kind of atmosphere that only a true farm wedding can create.

George & Lauren’s wedding was the perfect blend of heartfelt moments, relaxed countryside charm, and celebration. Being invited into this chapter of their story, on their home ground, surrounded by everything and everyone they love, was something I feel incredibly grateful for.
