Chloe & Ryan | A Curradine Barns Autumn Wedding

Curradine Barns Wedding Photographer | Shropshire Wedding Photographer

Chloe had been following my work for years before she got engaged. I was her first supplier booking, a few days after the proposal, which is one of the loveliest things a photographer can hear. When we met for the first time we spent most of it talking about everything except the wedding, which told me everything I needed to know about how the day would feel.

It felt like that. Easy, warm, entirely them.

Curradine Barns in November

People underestimate November weddings and I genuinely don’t understand why.

The light on Chloe and Ryan’s day was beautiful from start to finish. Soft and golden and low in the sky in the way that only autumn manages, and Curradine Barns in that light is something worth seeing. The warm stone, the open countryside, the kind of venue that feels like it was designed specifically for the season they chose to get married in.

A 1:30pm ceremony meant we had the whole afternoon ahead of us, and the light was with us all of it.

The Details

Chloe is a hairdresser, which meant hair was never going to be an afterthought. Bliss Hair Therapy delivered something genuinely beautiful, and Michelle G Makeup Artist completed a look that was warm and considered and perfectly suited to the day.

The dress and veil came from Georgina Scott Bridal the suits were from Dapper Dan Suit Hire and the whole wedding party looked exactly right.

The florals were by Kate at Colours Florist and if you know Kate’s work you will know why I was already excited about them before I arrived. I photographed Kate’s own personal branding session a while back and her talent is something else. Burnt oranges, rich autumn tones, arrangements that felt completely in conversation with the season and the venue. You can see more of Kate’s work here.

The confetti was hand dried by both mums, which is the kind of detail that makes a confetti moment feel completely different from a bought packet. They threw it as Chloe and Ryan came back up the aisle after the ceremony and it was everything.

The seating plan and table names were designed by Chloe herself. The cake came from ZM Wedding Cakes. And scattered throughout the venue were hand knitted pumpkins and pinecones that tied the whole autumnal theme together in the most personal, unhurried way.

Nobody buys hand knitted pumpkins. Someone makes them. That kind of care runs through this whole wedding.

The Portraits

We did couple portraits before the meal while the light was still full and golden, and then again later in the evening during golden hour when Curradine Barns turns completely magical and staying outside feels like the only reasonable option.

Ryan, by his own admission, hates having his photograph taken. He told me afterwards he hadn’t expected to feel as comfortable as he did. That is one of the things I value most in any feedback, because it is the hardest thing to manufacture and the most important thing to get right.

I did nearly break my arm getting one particular group shot. Worth it.

“Before I got engaged I knew I wanted Lisa as my wedding photographer. I had admired her work for years and she was my first supplier booking a few days after I got engaged. Our first meeting was spent chatting about completely non wedding related things and I felt so at ease and happy that this kind human was going to photograph our wedding. She was always excited about ideas I had about our photos and was interested in plans for the wedding leading up to the big day. I was lucky enough to meet and work a wedding with her a couple of months before my wedding day and it was so lovely to see her in action and see just how relaxed and professional she is.
She went above and beyond on our wedding day to get the right shots and nearly risked a broken arm to get the perfect group shot! Nothing was too much trouble. My husband hates having his photo taken and he even commented how comfortable Lisa made it to be in-front of the camera. The photos completely exceeded my expectations and then some. She captured the autumnal theme perfectly and when we got our sneak peeks I was blown away, she had immortalised our special day in the most beautifully taken and edited photographs. I had asked for some candid relaxed shots mixed in with the traditional shots and that is exactly what she delivered. I could write a thousand more lovely things about how great Lisa is and I can’t thank you enough Lisa for capturing these memories perfectly.”
