The Granary at Fawsley is a beautiful countryside wedding venue in Northamptonshire. It’s settled within 2600 acres of gorgeous grounds and it was the perfect choice for Simone and Demsey’s wedding!
Simone began getting ready at The Crown Inn which is a lovely Inn located nearby in the town of Weston. As I was driving to bridal prep I was a little bit worried about how the weather was going to be for the day as there was an outrageous amount of fog everywhere, you could barely see two metres ahead of you! I needn’t have worried however as Simone and Demsey’s wedding day turned into beautiful sunshine, it was wonderfully warm!
When I first met Simone and Demsey at their engagement shoot not only did we get on really well from the beginning but I also really loved their style and creativity. Simone has a very vintage day to day style which I love and they both carried this through to the styling of their wedding. Simone wore a gorgeous Ronald Joyce wedding gown twinned with a gorgeous flower crown, while Demsey wore a Marc Darcy blue tweed suit.
For their portrait session we went for a ride in the vintage VW Camper they’d hired to one of the many beautiful areas surrounding The Granary at Fawsley. We were really spoilt for choice for areas to photograph, as it was so sunny we opted to get some shade underneath some trees near the lake. The were so natural together and so lovely to photograph that it practically made my job a breeze! Having been together for 10 years and having two children together it was clear how well they knew each other and how comfortable they were together.
Both Simone and Demsey are really creative, Simone is a graphic designer and runs a company called Bowler Bear Design so of course she made loads of gorgeous little pieces for their wedding day. Demsey also did his fair share of DIY for the wedding, they had an ongoing copper theme, including copper wire buttonholes, a copper arch for them to get married under, and copper flower and candle holders! Simone’s mum even joined in with the wedding DIY and made them the most amazing copper and blue wedding cake with a copper wire ‘Mr & Mrs’ cake topper!
I don’t always take a shot of the wedding and engagement rings on a wedding day however I absolutely HAD to get a photograph of Simone’s amazing engagement ring! I don’t see many coloured engagement rings so Simone’s was a real treat for the eyes, and it also suits her style so well!
One of my favourite parts of Simone and Demsey’s day was during the sunset when we got away from the party for a bit to go for a wander into one of the many fields surrounding The Granary at Fawsley. Here we took some lovely portraits of Simone and Demsey spending some time together under that gorgeous late summer sunset.
