Faye and Vlad had the most relaxed wedding at The Bridal Barn in Claverley, Bridgnorth in June. The Bridal Barn is a fairly new venue out in the Shropshire countryside. I shot their first ever wedding there last year and I’m so excited to have more weddings lined up there in 2020 too! It’s a beautiful barn wedding venue, featuring two tipis, lots of windows, woodland and lots of gorgeous light. It was the perfect choice for Faye and Vlad’s summer wedding.
Faye had opted not to have prep covered so this meant I could make my way straight to The Bridal Barn to photograph some of the set up before the ceremony. I arrived to see a gorgeous outdoor ceremony set up on top of one of the woodland hills that surround The Bridal Barn. Unfortunately lot long after I arrived it started to rain, the decision was made to bring the ceremony down into the tipi that is next to the Bridal Barn itself. Initially I was quite sad about this because the woodland ceremony looked so beautiful! In the end though it was definitely the right decision. Even though the weather thankfully brightened up, the hay bales that the guests would have been sat on were absolutely soaked!
Faye and Vlad had a beautiful civil ceremony under the tipi. Due to the tipi not being licensed this meant they needed to nip inside the Bridal Barn itself after their ceremony to say a few words and sign the register. I thought this worked really well and is a great option for couples that would like a civil ceremony but are dreaming of getting married outside or somewhere unlicensed. After they’d signed the register they came back outside in to the courtyard where their friends and family had all lined up ready to throw confetti their way. Confetti shots are always a joy to shoot! We had some really intense sun during Faye and Vlad’s confetti moment which isn’t always ideal but when I look at the confetti shots from their day all I can see is the joy on their faces and the sun shows how hot their day turned out to be!
During their drinks reception they had hired two alpacas to hang out with them and their guests. The alpacas were a real hit with their guests and I think they loved it too because they got fed lots of alpaca food while they were there! For their couple portraits we headed up into the woodland clearing at the Bridal Barn. This is my favourite spot at the Bridal Barn for couple portraits, the light up here is always amazing and I just love a woodland backdrop. Faye and Vlad hadn’t had an engagement shoot before their wedding so were thrown in the deep end with their couple portraits but we had a wonderful time, they’re so affectionate with each other, they were a dream to photograph!
After their wedding breakfast and speeches Faye decided to do a bouquet toss outside the Bridal Barn. I’ve shot more bouquet tosses this year than ever and I love that they’re becoming more popular again, they’re always really fun to shoot! In the evening they had a really wild party in the tipi and games like big jenga in the barn itself. This worked really well because it meant that if their guests wanted a quieter area to chill out in they could go in the Bridal Barn while everyone else partied it up in the tipi.
For the final shots of the night with Faye and Vlad we went back to the woodland clearing. We had one of the best sunsets of the year that night and I was so pleased they were up for a few more portraits!
I absolutely loved shooting Faye and Vlad’s Bridal Barn wedding. If you’re planning a wedding at The Bridal Barn, please get in touch, I’d love to hear from you!
