I went to Snap Photography Festival for the first time back in 2017 and had an absolute blast so when tickets went up for sale for Snap 2018 I was all over it. I came away from the previous year kind of thinking I hadn’t actually managed to speak to many people and that I hadn’t really made many friends. Turns out I was a bit of an idiot, I’d spoken to lots of lovely people in 2017 and 2018 Snap was just an amazing way of building up the friendships I’d already made and making new ones. I tried not to put as much pressure on myself as last year, there are quite a lot of people attending so having a meaningful conversation with each and every person is honestly quite difficult, I mainly just focused on having a nice time and not overthinking anything.
Snap 2018 took us to the gorgeous West Lexham in Norfolk and our accommodation was in a tree house! This venue is basically a photographers dream, so I can certainly see why it was chosen as the venue for Snap.
What is Snap Photography Festival?
If you haven’t heard me banging on about Snap Photography Festival before, it is a photography conference, with a difference. Loads of photographers from all over the world come together for a week to learn, photograph, drink, dance, chat, sing, laugh and cry. Self employment can be a super lonely thing so workshops like Snap are always amazing, I now have a constant online community that I can talk to at any point during the day, which is a bit like having a colleagues!
If this all sounds pretty awesome to you and you want to get involved with Snap, now is definitely the best time! This years Snap is the last Snap Photography Festival EVER. I’ve had a lot of people say to me “maybe next year”, honestly guys, if you can scrape together the pennies to come I cannot express how much you won’t regret it! Snap has been an absolute business changer for me, I’ve learned so many new skills and made so many friends in the industry. Having friends in the industry is absolutely vital, they’re always amazing for bits of advice, second shooting and also emergency cover if you ever need it! If you’re planning to come please buy your ticket soon, there aren’t many left! You can buy your tickets here: http://www.snapphotofestival.com/
