Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery – Styled Bridal Shoot

shrewsbury museum and art gallery

Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery is a gorgeous and unusual venue at the heart of Shrewsbury town in Shropshire. I first came across this venue when I photographed a wedding there last year and I absolutely fell in love with it. After that wedding I knew I wanted to revisit the venue to do another wedding or shoot there.

I contacted various suppliers asking if they would like to collaborate and was over the moon when my chosen suppliers were all free! I chose Ginger Lily as the florist, I’ve used Denise for most of the styled shoots that I have done so far because I love her work so much! Her creations are always beautifully wild and absolutely perfect for the styling I wanted for the shoot.

Jessica’s bridal provided the gorgeous dress for the shoot. I went along to their studio a few weeks before the shoot to take a peek at their dresses to choose one that would suit the styling of the shoot. I was absolutely in awe at the amount of dresses they had in their studio and also their knowledge of the dresses, it would have taken me all day to pick out the perfect dress however they were able to show me exactly what I was looking for within 10 minutes. I would recommend them without a doubt to any brides still looking for the perfect bridal boutique!

The fabulous Amy Laney was the make up artist and Tabitha was the hair stylist, these ladies have worked together a few times before and they are the absolute perfect combination! I sent both of them a mood board before the shoot of the kind of look I was going for and what I would like the hair and make up to look like. However I made it clear that they were the experts in that field so they could just do whatever they felt would look best. I think the best piece of advice I could give anyone getting married would be to trust your suppliers, this is true with photography and it’s also true with hair and make up. These two are experts at what they do so you know you can sit back, relax, have some prosecco and they’re going to make you look even more beautiful than you do already!

The wedding cake was made my Annie at The Sugar Cart, what an amazing creation it was! I gave Annie a very vague idea of what I wanted and she went above and beyond all my expectations! The cake not only looked amazing but after the shoot we gave it a taste test and it was beautiful!

I love doing styled shoots, it’s such a lovely way to get to know and collaborate with different suppliers!

If you’re getting married at Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery and you’re still looking for your photographer then please get in touch, I’d love to hear about all your plans!
