Shauni and Tom got married last February at the lovely Rowton Castle, which is a stunning hotel in Shrewsbury. They had their ceremony at St George’s Church, which is a church nearby to the venue. It was a gorgeous day and even the weather played ball!
Shauni got ready at Rowton Castle with her bridesmaids and mum, and the atmosphere was so calm. The bride then took a fancy wedding car to get to the ceremony.
The ceremony was a beautiful service in a nearby church not far from Rowton Castle. The church was really stunning with loads of natural light streaming in from the big windows, which is always a big plus from a photography perspective. During the ceremony they also had their daughter Christened. It was so emotional and such a personal service. One of my favourite bits from their service was when their family in the pews reenacted a really famous scene from Love Actually. They kept it really unwraps, even from me, so it got a good laugh out of me while I shot it.
The reception was in a beautiful room at Rowton Castle. They chose the venue because it has so many options and they just love it there. It was a family orientated wedding, which I always love shooting. I love shooting Rowton Castle weddings because the surroundings are brilliant. My favourite part of the grounds is actually a woodland area that’s quite hidden away next to the entrance, it’s perfect for couple portraits as it’s away from guests and it’s stunning.
They had drinks and canapes in the afternoon, and a DJ in the evening. They decorated the venue with flowers and they chose this, because they wanted to keep it simple. I absolutely loved that they had two cakes, one for their wedding and another one for their daughter’s christening.
For dinner they had proper wedding grub, which was loved by all the guests. Rowton always do amazing food, which is another reason I love shooting there. The first dance a romantic slow dance with a twist, it reflected Shauni and Tom’s music taste brilliantly, and they finished off the evening with a huge party.
The most memorable part of the day was definitely the Love Actually reenactment, because it made everyone laugh.
Shauni wore a dress that she handmade herself and Tom wore a Bloom’s suit and they looked so perfect. Shauni’s flowers were by Ann Whysall and they were absolutely gorgeous. Tom wore an amazing top hat to complement his suit, I thought this looked awesome.
Shauni and Tom’s wedding was so much fun and had such a chilled vibe. Here’s their Rowton Castle wedding!
