Photo of the week – The Mytton and Mermaid

This week took me to the lovely Mytton and Mermaid in Atcham in Shropshire for Natalie and Chris’ wedding shin dig. I absolutely love shooting here, it’s literally only 10 minutes away from my home which is of course a massive bonus!  Every time I’ve shot at the Mytton and Mermaid I’ve been lucky enough to get the most gorgeous light, Natalie and Chris’ day was no exception! We were treated to this beautiful sunset just after their first dance. As soon as I saw it I got really excited and asked Natalie and Chris to come with me so we could create this magic. I absolutely love shooting silhouettes however you need very specific conditions for them to work, including an empty skyline. We shot this next to the bridge at the Mytton and Mermaid where we had a very clear view of the sky. I did the very rare thing of showing a couple a little back of the camera sneak peek. I don’t do this very often as I really like the images to be a surprise for the official sneak peek a few days after their wedding. I was too excited to keep this shot to myself though and I wanted to show Natalie and Chris why I’d dragged them away from their party! Natalie said that it looked like a painting which made me really happy and I’m really hoping I get similar conditions to this again on a wedding day soon!

When Natalie and Chris saw their sneak peeks, they said:

“Oh my goodness Lisa you are insane!!!!! We honestly can’t thank you enough, those sneak peeks are unbelievable. We couldn’t be happier to have had you capture our day – all of our guests were singing your praises too!!”

Wednesday took me to the Bridal Barn in Claverley where I got to meet a fair few of you who are tying the knot in the next year or two. It was so lovely to meet so many couples and I’m super excited to get some of you booked in!

Remember to check back here this time next week for the next photo of the week!
