“We just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU for photographing our wedding last year you were absolutely amazing and we’re so in love with the beautiful images you created. We absolutely loved getting to know you and feel very lucky to have found such a talented photographer and a lovely person too!”
Kelly and Nick got married last summer at the lovely Leighton Hall, which is an old country house in Shropshire. It was such a fun wedding and even the rain didn’t dampen the day!
Kelly got ready at Leighton Hall with her bridesmaids and her mum, and the atmosphere was so calm. Having met Kelly and Nick at their engagement shoot earlier in the year at Lake Vyrnwy, I knew they were both really chilled out people, so I expected nothing less on the morning of the wedding! The girls then walked together to get to the ceremony.
The ceremony was a beautiful service in the main hall. The ceremony room at Leighton Hall is very grand, with a gorgeous feature ceiling and big windows that create really lovely light in the room. During the ceremony they had their dog Woody be their ring bearer. I LOVE dogs so I was absolutely over the moon when they told me they were planning that. Woody didn’t disappoint, he safely delivered the rings to his humans and was very chilled out about it all. It was such a personal service and really fun.
Reception at Leighton Hall
The reception was out in the garden at the venue. They chose Leighton Hall because it has so many options and they just fell in love with it. I love shooting Leighton Hall weddings because the grounds are just incredible.
They had drinks and canapes in the afternoon, and garden games in the evening. I love garden games at weddings, the more people drink the more they get played! Kelly and Nick had included, sacks for sack races, rope for a tug of war and balls for croquet. They decorated the venue with photographs and flowers, because they wanted to keep it simple. Their table plan consisted of some of their favourite films, Kelly and Nick are both really in to films so I loved this person touch.
For dinner they had afternoon tea, which was absolutely delicious. I love afternoon tea at weddings, it’s a great idea for having food in a more informal way and means guests can eat as much or as little as they like. The first dance a medley of some of their favourite songs, they even had a dance routine for it, and they finished off the evening with a huge buffet.
The most memorable part of the day was when we were doing their couple portraits, Woody and Declan came along with us. While I was shooting Kelly and Nick Woody did a poo on one of the wooden logs nearby! Or you could say, Woody did a log on a log! We were all in BITS laughing for so long!
Kelly wore Love by Bonny Bridal and Nick wore a Moss Bros suit and they looked so incredible.
Kelly and Nick’s wedding was so much fun and had such a chilled vibe. Here’s their awesome wedding!
