Keele Hall is a gorgeous Staffordshire Wedding venue that is surrounded by picturesque countryside. Helen and Matt chose to get married here in October last year, one thing I absolutely love is an Autumnal wedding! Autumn is such a gorgeous time of year, the leaves on the trees turn a beautiful golden brown and there’s always a bit of magic in the air.
One thing that is never guaranteed in Britain is the weather! Helen and Matt’s big day proves that completely, it rained persistently for most of the day however it didn’t stop these two from going outside armed with an umbrella for their couple portraits! I love it when bride and grooms are willing to take risks like this, your wedding day is the perfect time to throw caution to the wind (or rather the weather!) and take a little risk to get an amazing shot. One of my favourite shots of the day was on Helen and Matt snuggled up together under their umbrella sharing a kiss, with Keele’s beautiful scenic backdrop behind them and the rain falling all around them! In this image you can actually see that Matt’s suit got a bit wet from the rain but boy was it worth it!
After their speeches there was actually a let up in the rain so we went outside again for some more couple portraits. In Autumn the light really isn’t on my side later on in the day so we had to be quick before we lost it completely! It was getting darker by the minute however I simply bumped up the ISO to capture these all important moments.
I love shooting at Keele Hall, one of the benefits is that if it does rain there are plenty of beautiful spaces inside that we can do couple portraits. And if you’re feeling adventurous like Helen and Matt were we can even pop outside under the safety of an umbrella!
