Dudmaston Engagement Shoot – Elisha & Gary

dudmaston engagement shoot

Elisha and Gary are getting married in August at Iscoyd Park in Shropshire.  They decided to have an engagement shoot, so we went to Dudmaston Estate, a National Trust property just outside Bridgnorth in Shropshire.  We chose Dudmaston for its beautiful grounds, with its woodlands and bluebells – ideal scenery for an engagement shoot!  I’ve already been to Dudmaston a few times in the past, so I knew exactly where to go to get some great shots.  It’s an amazing backdrop to any shoot and I would highly recommend a visit, even just for a day out!  As a bonus, the rain managed to hold off and we just managed to catch the last of the bluebells, adding some gorgeous colour to their photos.

I had a great chat with Elisha and Gary about their plans for their wedding as we walked around the grounds.  I’ve known Elisha for quite a while and I was so excited when I heard she was engaged and I was honoured when she asked me to capture her special day. These two have been together for nearly 10 years, Gary proposed on their favourite beach in Lindos, Rhodes with a gorgeous bespoke engagement ring. They threw an engagement party when they got back from their holiday to celebrate, although I was shooting a wedding that day I popped round later on in the evening to congratulate them! I loved hearing about all their plans and I’m super excited to shoot at Iscoyd Park as it’s a stunning country house wedding venue, making it a perfect choice for their day.

I started the shoot as I usually would, shooting from a distance to help them to relax a little, gradually getting closer shots until they were completely comfortable. These two absolutely killed it, they have such a lovely connection with each other and Gary is able to make Elisha laugh really easily. Engagement shoots are the perfect way for us to get to know each other before your wedding.  The shoot provides some lovely intimate images of the two of you, as well as giving the opportunity to become more comfortable in front of the camera. It also gives you a chance to see how I work so you know exactly what to expect on your big day.

Thank you, Elisha and Gary, I had a wonderful time with you both at your engagement shoot and I can’t wait to capture your big day in August!
