Zoe and Leon had their engagement shoot at the beautiful Cannock Chase. Cannock Chase is an area of outstanding natural beauty in Staffordshire. It’s the perfect spot for an engagement shoot as there’s so much to explore! I’d been to Cannock Chase previously for a couple shoot so I was really pleased when Zoe and Leon suggested going there for their engagement shoot. I had met Zoe before because she was a bridesmaid at a wedding I shot a couple of years ago. I’m always over the moon when couples book me after meeting me at another wedding and loving my work from it, it’s the ultimate compliment!
Couple Portraits around Cannock Chase
Although I’d shot at Cannock Chase before I didn’t know my way around it very well, it’s pretty big so it’s very easy to get lost there! Thankfully Leon was more familiar with it than me and Zoe so we totally followed his lead! I loved all the different areas of Cannock Chase, including the woodland areas and fern plants. Zoe and Leon’s wedding was in January so we did their engagement shoot in the Autumn, this meant there was some beautiful colours around, a lot of browns and reds which looked amazing combined with Zoe’s gorgeous red hair! There was also some beautiful light around which is one of the major benefits of autumn and winter shoots, it’s never too bright, which can be an issue in the Summer! (Although as I write this it’s currently raining, good old England).
I loved chatting to Zoe and Leon about their plans for their wedding and learning all about how they met and their first date. Their first date sounded really sweet, when Zoe invited Leon along to church with her, not expecting him to go, and he did! I’ll be blogging their winter wedding very soon so keep your eyes peeled!
