Blakelands Country House Wedding – Rachael & Matt

blakelands country house

Rachael and Matt got married in August at the lovely Blakelands Country House, which is a fancy country house in Staffordshire. It was a beautiful day and even the weather played ball!

Getting ready

Rachael got ready at Blakelands Country House with her bridesmaids, and the atmosphere was absolutely electric. The girls then walked the short distance to get to the ceremony.

Civil Ceremony at Blakelands Country House

The ceremony was an intimate affair in a beautiful room at the venue. Blakelands Country House has a really gorgeous ceremony room that is absolutely covered in twinkly fairy lights. It always looks so cosy! During the ceremony an emotional reading from one of Rachael’s bridesmaids. It was so emotional and really meaningful. When Matt saw Rachael walking down the aisle he started welling up, I always love a bit of emotion in a ceremony!

After the ceremony

The reception was out in the garden at the venue. They chose Blakelands Country House because it’s so cosy and relaxed and they just fell in love with it. I love shooting Blakelands Country House weddings because the grounds are just wonderful. I’m a recommended photographer for Blakelands Country House so I tend to shoot there a couple of times a year. I always jump at getting a chance to shoot there!

They had drinks and canapes in the afternoon, and a game of Mr and Mrs in the evening. The game of Mr and Mrs was really funny, they had it after their first dance and it kept all their guests entertained. They decorated the venue with flowers and candles, because it fitted with the time of year. Blakelands Country House doesn’t really need much decoration as it’s beautiful without any. The fairy lights that decorate it really add something quite special.

For dinner they had proper wedding grub, which was loved by all the guests. The first dance was a good old traditional wedding shuffle, and they finished off the evening with a game of Mr and Mrs.

The most memorable part of the day was the ceremony, because it was so romantic and personal.

The couple

Rachael wore a Justin Alexander wedding gown and Matt wore a Nicholas Smith suit and they looked so perfect. Rachael’s flowers were by Floral Secrets and they were absolutely beautiful!

Rachael and Matt’s wedding was so much fun and had such a chilled vibe. Here’s their Blakelands Country House wedding!
