Di and Andy got married at Minsterley church in Shropshire and had their laid back wedding reception back at their home, a short walk away from the church. Di and Andy didn’t want full coverage of their wedding day so they contacted me asking for reduced hours. I only shoot a handful of reduced coverage weddings each year however I loved Di and Andy’s plans so much I knew I wanted to be there to capture their day!
Minsterley church is a beautiful old fashioned church in the heart of Shropshire. I arrive at the church just as Andy got there to see the vicar and welcome his guests. Di arrived not long after all the guests had been seated and looked stunning in her simplistic yet classic wedding dress.
One of my favourite parts of Di and Andy’s day was after their ceremony when all their guests congratulated them outside. It’s always so lovely to be able to capture people when they’re at their happiest! One of my favourite moments of the day was between Andy and his mum outside church, just looking at each other and giving each other a little cuddle, that’s what it’s all about.
Back at Di and Andy’s back garden reception they’d had a tepee put up in their beautiful garden, it looked stunning and really suited the laid back atmosphere they were going for! After we did their group shots (in between rainy showers!) Di and Andy sat down for their wedding breakfast. I then grabbed them between their main and their pudding to do their couple portraits. This was a really great time for us to do their couple portraits as most of their guests were sat down in the tepee meaning their garden was free for us to roam around in!
September is one of my favourite months, there’s a certain quality to the light around this time of year. I certainly wasn’t disappointed during Di and Andy’s portrait session, it was so bright and beautiful, giving us some perfectly even light for their photographs!
Thank you so much Di and Andy for letting me photograph your wonderful wedding!
