Attingham Park Engagement Shoot – Sarah & Mark

Attingham Park is a gorgeous National Trust venue in Shropshire. It consists of a Grade II listed country house and an extensive estate. When I was discussing with Sarah and Mark where they’d like their engagement shoot to take place in Shropshire, this was the venue they chose. I’m a really big fan of Attingham Park, the grounds are so big you can literally get lost in them (as I frequently do when I do shoots there!), it also means that no two shoots there are exactly the same, there’s so much to choose from.

Shropshire Engagement Shoot

I tend to do most of my engagement shoots within Shropshire, as this is where I’m based and it’s also where most of my couples are having their weddings. I’ve used Attingham Park a few times before and as well as the shoot location being beautiful, it also makes for a really nice walk around. I try to do engagement shoots in various different places throughout the year to make sure I’m not just repeating the same shots in the same locations, I love shooting in loads of different places around Shropshire!

Sarah and Mark had their wedding at Combermere Abbey which is on the Shropshire/Cheshire border. I’ll be blogging their wedding very soon, I can’t wait for you guys to see it, these two were absolutely awesome. While we were on their engagement shoot at Attingham Park we had a good chat about the plans for their day and also about life in general! Mark is self employed like me so we had a good chat all about the pros and cons of that. It was clear from their engagement shoot that we got on really well and their wedding was going to be really fun. I love doing engagement shoots to get to know my couples. It’s a great way to practice poses so that on the wedding day there’s no faffing about seeing what works, we just nail it straight away. On Sarah and Mark’s wedding day there was a constant threat of rain while we were doing their couple portraits, this meant we had to be really quick to ensure we could use all the different areas we wanted to. Having done their engagement shoot I knew which poses worked for them and so we were able to get through them really quickly, despite the crazy wind and threat of rain!

Get your shoot booked in!

If you’re thinking about booking an engagement shoot with me, or even just a couple shoot then definitely get in touch! I love shooting couples, it’s always really fun and relaxed, it’s a nice day out and you get some really lovely photographs of the two of you at the end of it. These days with everyone having a smartphone it’s easy to say you have photographs of the two of you already, however selfies won’t catch you when you’re off guard, they won’t capture your natural laughter or your connection together. I think having professional photographs taken with the people you love is really important. It doesn’t matter if you’re engaged or not, you should definitely book yourselves a shoot, I promise you will absolutely treasure the images!
