For Lorna and James’ Engagement Shoot we decided to go to Attingham Park, a National Trust property on the outskirts of Shrewsbury, Shropshire. I’m a big fan of National Trust areas so when Lorna and James asked for some ideas for where to have their Engagement Shoot I was more than happy to recommend Attingham Park. When we arrived Lorna and James actually signed up to a years National Trust Membership, meaning they get to enjoy Attingham Park and many more places even more!
Attingham Park is such a varied space. For their shoot we decided to go around the more woodland sections, the light was absolutely beautiful but it was also very harsh, so the woods provided us with lots of shade with gorgeous sunlight streaming through. During Engagement shoots I usually start taking photographs from further away at first to get you both comfortable in front of the camera, slowly making my way closer towards you. One key thing I always tell couples is to simply ignore me, and these guys were awesome at it! The main thing I want to capture is how you are with each other, rather than too many static shots of you looking in to the camera. Lorna and James were brilliant at this, they were really lovely together!
Lorna and James relaxed really quickly in front of the camera and as we had a walk around, occasionally stopping to take photographs, we had a chat about their plans for their wedding day. They’re planning a wonderful Autumnal wedding at Pendrell Hall in Codsall, I’m really excited to shoot in Pendrell Hall as it’s a really well known midlands venue and I’ve been told it’s perfect for photographs!
Thank so much Lorna & James for choosing me to photograph your day, I loved getting to know you both on your Engagement shoot so I’m really excited for your wedding day!
